It could have something to do with the division being a joke.

Should've just gone with peanut butter right out of the jar.  Works every time in a pinch.  I don't even think I've seen nutella before.  What the hell is it supposed to be?

go bear, steve smith just scored again and the center just punched out another teammate.

i feel the new "PG" pods are hurting dantes skills. guys should have two pods: one my little pony one and reservoir dog one.

loosen the chains alittle, this is 2006. now-a-days PG movies are similar to a 1940 R movie.

Somehow I just don't see being the class of a group of derelicts to be much of an accomplishment, iowa.  When four retards get angry and start to flail away and stumble all over each other, the biggest retard wins, but he's still a retard.  Catch my drift?

By the way, I remember when there used to be a small possibility of seeing tits in a PG movie.  That just won't fly anymore, along with a lot of other things.  Damned political correctness.

i guess i've gotta defend my bears once again...

while i won't argue that it's a weak division, the bears are far from a weak team.  their defense is very strong and they have only upgraded it.  everyone also seems to forget how good their running game is.  be it jones or benson, they are solid behind the o-line.  granted the big question is the passing game, and it still is.  but it can only get better. grossman seems to get the nfl and has looked good when healthy.  if he ca't be healthy, griese is not a bad option as a #2.

they get into the playoffs, and once there, you never know.  stranger things have happened.

Point taken, but who's gonna score touchdowns for those guys?  Muhsin Muhammad?  The Chicago running game has gotten its share of yards, but not its share of touchdowns.

I'm a Patriots fan and I lick my lips everytime I remember that Division in on our schedule this year.

crazy ahmed,

granted we did not punch it in all that often.  but i tink that had more to do with orton's limitations than anything else.  the running game should get theirs with benson more savvy.  i also think that while you joke about mushin...he can get in that end zone with grossman throwing.  it is a big "if" for the bears.  but don't be shocked if they finally start clicking.

But by the same token don't be surprised if they go 4-12 and you can actually hear the vacum noise through the TV because they suck so hard.

Who is playing QB? Grossman? That is cool, will he be lasting 5 or 6 weeks this season?

How many disgruntled misfits do they have on Defense this year?

I can tell you're not exactly objective here based on the slur of "misfits" and quote of "suck so hard"...but i will try to be as best i can.  and don't get me wrong, i'm biassed in the opposite direction.  but as many fans here can attest...team's own fans are their harshest critics.  and i've been annoyed at them for too many years.

but to answer your questions:

actually i will be very surprised if they go 4-12.  there's too much defensive talent, too much talent at rb and their schedule is too light.  8-8...would not surprise me.

right now, grossman is under center.  if he lasts 5 or 6 games, that will double his starts from previous years.  the bears finally got a competant back-up in griese to hedge against the possibility (or probability)

the bears have no disgruntled misfits on defense.  they do however, have 2 disgruntled pro-bowlers in briggs and vasher.  training camp has yet started, and deals could still happen then or even after.  if not, they are currently under contract and will probably play this year regardless.  the bears got depth be adding some free agents (including one potential felon - i guess evey team's gotta have one these days) and a number of rookies in the secondary to shore that up.  addressing why mr. smith ran all over us in the playoffs.

I am not biased other than to say "I hope they drop at least the one vs. the Patriots" other wise they can go 15-1 for all I give a ****.

I just don't think they will. I do think that their "Defensive Talent" is vastly and viciously over-rated, and they have a big shiny "?" playing the most important position of the field.

That said, their division is a joke and I like the coach, so I guess they *could* go back to the playoffs, who else is going to win that horrid division?

I guess I see Briggs and Vasher as misfits because as a Patriots fan my "misfit threshold" is extremely low. Branch and Seymour have both held out without the media quotes and public hand-wringing, but like I said..... i'm spoiled.

I don't dislike the Bears, actually I really, REALLY like the Bears. I was just presenting an "opposing opinion".

(When you catch me killing the Colts..... THAT is bias)

i just hope we show up for that pats game and at least make you work for it!  i differ in the extent of their d being over-rated.  while i was upset they started making comparisons to some of the best all time d's, they certainly are at least very very good and extremely oppotunistic.

i'm with you on who wins the division.  it's almost by default.

you're simply lucky to have the maagment tha pats have.  they are truly the best run franchise in the league.  briggs and vasher really have not been that bad.  they missed some mini-camp and said they wanted to be paid.  i'll let judgment rest on them until training camp starts.

many of my friends are pats guys...so as far as the afc goes, it's hard not to like 'em.  well run teams are fun to watch.  as with the colts for you, you'll see me get far more biassed once green bay gets involved!

I like Bill, he didn't RAIL me for making fun of his team. Thanks Bill!

No Vasher is definatly well within "bounds" for what is going on with him. Corners are supposed to be emotional, never met a "calm" coner worth a damn. Briggs I like a little bit less, but in honesty he isn't "TO".

I think BOTH of them need to have another good season before starting to whine. Seymour dominated for 3 season before he started with the tears, and Branch let a Super Bowl MVP season pass without a sob. There comes a time in every good NFL career where you have to "b1tch for your dough" but I don't think Briggs or Vasher have earned that yet. They will though, and maybe the Bears are better off paying NOW before the price re-doubles.

I think the Bears benefitted from a horrid division and complete underestimation in 05', and it will be interesting to see how the opposition reacts now that the Bears are a "playoff team".

i hear ya...

i personally agree with what's been written by florio on vasher and briggs.  i tink they shoul prove it wasn't an anomoly before shelling out the loot.  they've ealready given briggs a big offer...so i'm far more irritated with him.

seymour was defnitley a proven commodity unlike those 2 who could just be benefactors of a well schemed d, good d line and a fantastic mlb
