Alot of debate goes on as to why Marino never won a SB and so on...
Well one of the many reasons could be Marino had a weak point in his game which is often not brought up.
Consider this... over Marino's Career he has ran 301 times for only 89 yards (less then 1 foot/per attempt) in the playoffs he does even worse with 15 attempts and a single yard to show for it.
Now it is not a QBs job to run but most QBs will get you about 2 yards per carry even in the playoffs... and the threat of a QB running 5 or 6 yards for a first down makes the defense play a little bit closer... this was hardly ever on the mind of the defenses Marino was facing.
Marino's carrer long was 15 yards...
We often laugh about how slow bledsoe is and how he is such a statue in the pocket... He has a career long of 25 yards and completly destorys Marino in every other rushing statistic.
Perhaps this had alot to do with it or very little to do with some of Marino's failings... Either way it is a question i think we should ask.
Yea yea we had the Titans that game........Taylor was rollin..........which is why it is a mystery to me (and even Taylor) that Coughlin completely abandoned the running game in the second half and opened the doors for the Titans to physically man handle the Jags like they did twice before that season.
