Super Bowl Predictions

I know I'm kind of doing this a bit early, but I'm curious if any of you wanna give any predictions as to which two teams you think will wind up in the Super Bowl this year.  (If you wanna predict who wins, that's fine too!)  :)

Falcons have a chance if Vick "pulls a Bledsoe" and goes out early enough for the backup to take them all the way.

Neither the Falcons or the Dolphins will make the playoffs.  Bank on it.

And both of them will be spending a first round pick and/or big money in free agency on a quarterback in a year or two.  You'll see.

FINALLY! Somebody agrees with me about the Dolphins! This is a monumental moment in PFT history! And I can't believe Florio.......Following the ESPN hype......He most likely has the Dolphins #1 in his power rankings it seems.

Nobody is forgetting that their QB smooshed his skull, and the "soul of the team" retired.

Coach is still a screw-up.

I think the Steelers have next to no chance at a repeat.

Coach is still a screw-up?  Yeah, he's screwing up all the way to the hall of fame...

And you predict the Patriots...very original...they are lacking wide recievers, even if Branch ever shows up, and their DB's are sh*t, even if Harrison quits being a little b*tch.

Cowher belongs in the Hall of Fame. Under his bust it can describe how many AFC games he blew when he had homefield advantage. It can describe his awesome Super Bowl win (not winS, win... as in singular). It can go on about how awful the Seahawks were, how many lopsided calls went to the Steelers, and how the Steelers STILL almost blew it. They should wrap that up with how many seasons it took him coaching 1 team to actually win one.

Winning 1 Super Bowl (that is widely regarded to be the worst in decades) puts Cowher on par with such luminaries as: John Gruden, and Brian Billick. Color me impressed.

Heh. Why don't you unbunch those panties and take a breath.

Yeah, you wouldnt want to mention that he is the only coach in the history of the NFL to win 3 road playoff games against the 1, 2, and 3 seed teams in the AFC...or that he is the 2nd longest tenured coach in the league for a reason, or that his winning percentage is better than Belichick's...

Belichick has 5 Super Bowl rings.

I'll say that again as we have some people that are a little slow here: "5 rings."

3 rings as a head coach, and 2 thanks to the fat Tuna...

So, by your standards Chuck Noll is the best coach of all time with 4 SB rings (as a head coach)?

I'm also going to go with Carolina vs. Denver.

Both of those teams very easily could've represented their conference in 2005 and should be even better in 2006.

The Eagles? Are you kidding me? They have no receivers. I would be shocked if they won their division. I can't see them finishing ahead of the 'skins, Cowboys, and Giants. The NFC East is stacked, which will also keep the Eagles from getting a Wildcard spot. The days of padding their record by beating weak NFC East teams is over.

The Broncos I can see making it to the SB.

I'm guessing you're an Eagles fan. This would explain you calling me a dickk. Philly fans are the worst fans around. Always picking fights with fans from other teams and generally being jerks.

yep... im a jerk... but at least i dont berate a site for being full of crap and then spend all of my free time on its message board... as for the eagles... ur right... totally unproven offense... but i think reggie brown and todd pinkston(if he plays) will be enough with westbrook to allow the defense to win games... i have faith.. i wont continue to push it.. all i can say is i made a prediction per the topic of this board...

Word around town is that Reggie Brown has been a stud in training camp thus far, and he could easily have a monster season...Alot of people are already counting the eagles out, but with a healthy McNabb, a bolstered O-line, and D-line, and a healthy secondary the eagles are a definite contender...

Yes, Chuck Noll is still the champ, and I would put Lombardi and Brown ahead of him too. Not too bad having the 3rd best coach of all time though.... i'll take it.

PS - "Fat Tuna" has 2 rings thanks to Belichick, not vice versa. If "Fat Tuna" didn't have his head so far up his keister his last year with the Pats they would both have an extra one, and Farve would be without.

I would argue that Belichick has 3 thanks to Charlie Weis and Romeo Crennel. The Pats didn't win a SB until Weis and Crennel arrived in '01.

Billy B. was garbage in Cleveland, only having 1 winning season and finishing his tenure there with a 36-44 (.450) record. He had no Crennel and no Weis.

I love how people say "Belichick hasn't won a Super Bowl since Crennel and Weis left"

IT'S BEEN 1 FRIGGIN' SEASON PEOPLE! WE WON THE PREVIOUS 2!!!!!

It's like people say "Bill Belichick sucks unless he wins EVERY SINGLE SUPER BOWL"

Retarded.

I didn't say he sucks. I merely pointed out that he hadn't won any SBs until those two arrived (Cleveland and NE). Not before, and not last year. It will be interesting to see how the Pats do in a few years once the players from their "dynasty" are all gone. It will be all him. My personal opinion is that the mighty Patriot "Dynasty" will crumble into the Browns of the early '90s. Those people that wanted the SB trophy renamed the Belichick/Lombardi Trophy will be calling for his head.

Belichick is not a 1 man show, and there would be no Lombardis in Foxboro without Tom Brady. However I am not really convinced that losing Crennel and Weis is that big of a deal.

Reality states that the Belichick/ Brady Patriots have won their last Super Bowl anyways. How many coach/ QB tandems have won 4 or more Super Bowls?

Not many, so as far as I am concerned it was a great run if it ends today.

Either way the dynasty is in the books, the trophies are in the cabinet, and the Patriots will always be remembered as the "Team of the Decade".

All this "BS" is just "sour grapes".

Any above average QB in the league could have come in a play Brady's part. Brady is a product of the system. He is a good QB in his own right, but the talent and the coaching around him have got him where he is. If he had played on one of the teams that didn't have great talent on offense and defense, he wouldn't even be mentioned in the same breathe as the NFL HOF. Weis's playcalling and Crennel's defense have bailed Brady out more often than not.

If its the system that made Brady.....then the coach gets the credit. If you want to say that coordinators deserve the credit...by all means do...but Billy B picked the assistants..so give credit where it is due.

This is just another example of a sucessful coaching tree..so to speak. You have the Holmgren, Reid, Chucky, ect..ect...

Now you have Billy B , Romeo, Weiss

Nothing wrong with picking up good habits from great coaches
