Lame story about Reggie, Taxes

Slow news day?  Taxes are a part of American life..  When you don't pay taxes in a certain state, you usually pay more for residual living costs and other hidden taxes.  Anybody with half a brain knows that.

The story was mostly about how much Reggie cost himself by being a turd leading up to the draft. The reason why (taxes) was sorta' required for background.

But the site is sorta slow considering most teams are in camp today. Florio is only 1 man though, and it ain't like we're paying.

Being a turd?   do you have some sort of insider info to that, or just retarded?

also, if reggie doesn't live full time in La he isn't subjected to the same income taxes, it's called "part year residence" and such.

let's go over ALL draft picks and see who "turded out" by getting picked by a team who resides in a state that features state taxes.  what a stupid topic to try to platform from.

Part yearr Residency means nothing.  Professional Football Players Earn 16 paychecks a year and pay taxes to each city/state they play in.  Accordingly, Florio's point on Reggie Bush was right on the money (so to speak).  Bush's "take home" pay will be significantly less in New Orleans than receiving the same contract in Texas.  The Saints have road games in Florida & Texas but the point is if you can have 1/2 (8 games) of your games in a state with no income tax you would factor that into the total value of the contract.

To the creator of this thread, the Story was anything but LAME.  Bush cost himself well over $1 million playing hardball with the Texans which was Florio's point.

When you make $50,000 a year maybe, when you are making Millions, 9% state Income Tax loses to 0% income tax every time.

As a background, I believe it was the City of Philadelphia that started going after Visiting players game checks claiming 1/16 of their salary was earned within the city.

I do keep wondering where the hell the rest of the power rankings are???  There's news for agents & taxes but no power-rankings???

However, Reggie's agent was a jackass that cost him tons of dough hoping to break the bank.   Houston passing on Bush was the best thing that could have happened IMO.

Suppose the Saints had the first pick and the Texans had the second pick. Let's also suppose Bush's pre-draft behavior made him drop to the number two pick to the Texans. Would that mean his behavior helped mitigate the salary difference between the #1 pick and #2? No.  It's just dumb luck if the team picking second doesn't have a state tax (or in the case of reality, it does have a sales tax). Just like it was bad luck that he went to the Saints where there is a sales tax.

My point is lumping the sales tax in with the salary difference isn't really relevant, and you shouldn't blame his pre-draft behavior on him going to a state with a sales tax. Blame bad luck.

Violate NCAA rules, take the dough when everyone else must say no.

Claim you have nothing to hide, then mention that you also have nothing to say on the matter. Act shifty when confronted.

+ EGO out the earholes for good luck.

With or without the Money....He still has to live with the fact that he blew it as the number one pick.  But to say that he should have been the number one pick and wants number one money... I hope they have helmits to fit an ego that big.

That's the second time you've called me a "dickk".  It's also the second time you've failed to respond to my post with any kind of intelligence.  I don't care if you call me a dickk, but at least make a point as to where you might disagree with me...and then call me whatever you want.
