Just registered on these forums. I've been a huge fan of PFT for a long time now and I figured that I'd register and attempt to try to contribute to some of these topics. I'm a lifelong Bucs fan and have been playing fantasy football for years. I'm in 6 (yes, not a typo) leagues this year and think I've got a pretty good grasp on the players this year.
In addition, I've got some pretty decent photoshop skills and Tacobill, you do good work, my friend. :) Take care all and I look forward to chatting with you all.
Bucs...hmmm??? I thought they were overrated a tad last year. I still think they are a decent team that has a shot at the playoffs, but I don't think they'll be able to catch Carolina this year.
Well the 2nd half of the season Chris Simms had the lowest INT total in the NFL (3) and they were 6-2 in that span, including a dominant win at Carolina. The big problem last year was the O-line, especially RG, and they added Davin Joseph. Another problem was Michael Clayton was injured and did nothing all year but he appears to back to his 2004 form so we'll see.
They definately have done positive things with the O-line. Tampa's offensive line has been their Achilles heel for a very long time, even in 2002. Although Gruden says that Muir is one of the best o-line coaches in the league, I'm beginning to have my doubts. Also, I have always thought that Kenyatta Walker is and will always be, a bust. Especially for a first round pick and what they gave up for him.
The jury's out still and we'll see. The NFC South is one of the toughest divisions in the league. Now, with the Saints additions of Brees and Bush, it just got a whole lot tougher. There's going to be some good inter-divisional games, that's for damn sure.
Tacobill, I'll be sure to send you some pics every now and then that I do. Who knows, maybe you'll like one or two of them enough to host on the main page?
I still like Carolina to come out of that division, though. Anyway, switching gears for a minute, I have a question regarding the Bucs defense. I certainly believe it is one of the best defensive units in the NFL, however, I have always felt that their interior was somewhat vulnerable against the run (and I feel that certain teams, especially those within their division have been able to expose this weakness). Does anybody have anything to say about this?
Last year the Bucs were #2 in YPC allowed. Pitt was #1. So that means the Bucs were basically the best 4-3 team vs the run last season. And if you take away Vick's rushes we would have had a better YPC allowed than the Steelers.
Chris Hovan is the best 4-3 NT in the NFL. People want to say John Henderson but that guy is all hype.
