Dallas Imploding?

Parcell's seems REALLY unhappy.

The T.O. saga gets weirder / more annoying with the entry of that scumbag agent of his.

Now Romo's getting more reps, because, it seems....

The O-line stinks, and 2 of the three D-lines of division rivals (Wash. / Philly) look really good.

Dallas looks headed for a mess.

A few short weeks ago, they were a Soop pick.

This could STILL come together and even live up to that (hope not, I'm a Birds fan).

I have my own ideas about how (the *apparent* preference for Romo may be one of those Parcell's type motivational tactics that raises the level of play of the O-line, the QB, AND brings this WR back into the fold).

But I want to hear what others on this message board think of Dallas' chances now. Do people still think of them as Soop contenders right now?

As much as a guy like me lives for a Bill vs. Bill Super Bowl (Parcells v. Belichick) I doubt the Cowboys can make it. They took on the "TO disaster" and that will shake the team apart within this season.

I think they can win 10 games tops, but they re not going to the Super Bowl unless everything falls in their favor.

10 games would be pretty good in this division. doesn't exactly sound like a shaken apart team, either.

but generally, I feel the same way: i never really thought a super bowl was in the cards for these guys, and ALOT can happen in the course of a football season, but from THIS vantage point, it just doesn't look like it.

Ninja, do you think the Romo thing is a ploy by Parcells, the way I've explained it above, or do you think it's real?? Or is it a little bit of both? You know more about his methods as a Patriot fan.

this far along, teams are pretty much set on a game plan for the season. Dallas, as it seems however, hasn't even chosen their starting qb, thus the team is unsure of it's leadership/chemistry. parcells hasn't even seen his alleged star player in action. furthermore, said star reciever is at the center of a media circus and things are shakey at best between t.o. and parcells.... Failure in the trenches is just icing on the cake... the biggest problem here is distraction... this team can't focus on what they need to do to accomplish their goals because they aren't a team yet.... even their big money players (bledsoe, owens) are on the bubble right now and their head coach may not be around come september either... distraction will kill this teams chances, i don't even see playoffs right now...

The easter conference is going to be close, and maybe the boy's won't get anywhere, but it is too early to write anyone off.

All it will take is for To to catch a few balls for big yardage and that could turn things around. On the other hand, there could be a rift that casued him to be cut.

When you look at the east, i can find problems with every team. Saturn... your birds are looking for a running back. Westbrook is banged up, and he may have a good year, but he could get hurt too. They could use a few wide outs.

NYG...Tiki is 34 and has carried the ball lots over the past few year, he could be vurerable. But could run for 1500.

the injury bug could change lots of things, just look at Plili last year.

now now, let's not try to smooth over the mess that is dallas by pointing out that the giants have a 34 yr old rb, or that westbrook has been rested for an injury that wouldn't even have him listed as 'doubtful' if the playoffs were on the line.

and of course, the injury bug could change lots of things. that's true in every sport, every season. no news there, Leroy.

do you REALLY think that "t.o. catching a few balls" is ALL that needs to happen for all to be well in the land of the blue star? if so, explain.

There will be some kind of implosion you are right.

My bold prediction is that Tuna will actually bench TO mid-season. TO will pull the kind of thing he is doing now...he will take himself out of a game and that will be that. Or TO will mouth off to Tuna for making a bad call and the fireworks will go off.

The damage will have already been done though. TO is a lockerroom cancer, and there will be some players that will not approve of the way Tuna handled it. There will be a rift between players who thought TO was in the wrong and those who thought Tuna was in the wrong.

I agree with hark that they are somewhat in trouble because they havn't established a complete #1 offense. The entire #1 offense hasn't been able to gel and most likely isn't completely on the same page. It happened to the Packers last year when they didn't establish a starting Oline last year until the opener. They didn't gel, and they struggled.

The defense doesn't sound bad. Ellis is starting out strong, and Carpenter will be a good LB. They have a good LB core, but the Dline doesn't scare me. Aaron Glenn is pretty good also.

My opinion is that this team could go anywhere from 7-9 to 9-7. Start out weak, but finish on a good note. Right now (it is early), I don't see playoffs.

I'm absolutely salivating at the thought of a T.O. / Tuna meltdown....partly for the sheer entertainment of it and partly because I love the thought of Tuna ripping that turd a new one.

It seems to me Tuna is kinda in a tough spot. The boss decided to bring the cancer into the clubhouse.....but Tuna has to make it work.

one of the radio hosts here in philly claims that that when Jones announced his intention to go after t.o., the Tuna threatened to cut Larry Allen, one of Jones' pets. When Jones signed t.o., the Tuna went ahead and cut Allen.

if that's true (and it may not be), then the seeds of this current dysfunction were planted right from the start.

and hey, they're puttin' up points tonight without him...it gives parcells no reason to concede.

I wouldn't blame Tuna if he retired after this season. Heck, I wouldn't blame him if he retired right now. Jerry Jones has got to be the biggest d1ck to work with. He just comes across to me as that slimey used car salesman only with tons and tons of money. I would go nuts if I was a first class coach like Parcells being dealt a crappy team by a crappy owner.

yea, its the saints... but this offense looks fukin solid... i dont think they need t.o. but if they have him and he doesnt explode... i just may rescind my declaration that this is not a playoff team... we will have to see how that line holds up against better defenses... i was also thinking about Parcells predicament... He due to close media and public scrutiny, he can't really go after T.O. himself... if i were him, at camp, I would have busted everyone elses asses extra hard to make up for T.O. not getting reps and getting better... it would unify the rest of the players to take on the perrogative that parcells is unable to execute himself... im sure the pressure of an entire team would either get TO on the field for practice or get him the hell out of town... either way Billy P. would be happier than he is now.

I too cannot wait for a fukn implosion. It's like anticipating the third season of the fukn Sopranos....the mood is heightened, there is already some fodder for trouble as the guy refuses to practice.....the plot thickens day by day...This whole thing is so suspenseful I love it. Parcells may bring a pistol to work one day and end it for TO.

"You aint gonna ruin my team or my career you bastard sonuvabitch (said in a cheesy ol school demeanor)." And then he opens up fire up TOs a$$ and gives him a buckwheats to kill Drew Rosenhaus (that is where Rosenhaus's new office is)

The solution for stability in Dallas seems to be cut TO and throw the ball to T. Glenn...T.Glenn was amazing last night while TO was pedaling on the sidelines, cut TO and make a trade for a solid #2 reciever...The whole reason the Cowboys (and by Cowboys I mean Jerry Jack@ss) got TO was for his big play ability, how can he make big plays from a stationary bike on the sidelines, thus he is worthless...

It's amazing the transformation of Terry Glenn from a complete mental case malcontent with the Pats to a highly productive player now. He was highly productive early on with the Pats.......but then turned into an idiot. I don't fault the Pats for dumping him because he was a cancer turd at the time. The ironies here are amazing also. Parcells was the Pats coach at the time Glenn was drafted and Tuna was dead set against the pick. When Glenn got into camp Tuna referred to him as "she". I find it ammusing now in reading the above post that Glenn and "stability" are synonomous. But in the context of the present day Cowboys....it's true. Kudos to Glenn for being able to get his life together and get beyond turd-hood. The talent has never been in question.

The only thing holding this team back is injuries. Everyone on Dallas knows who runs the ship- Big Bill. And Owens might have his problems, but one thing is for sure- he plays like a winner, therefore wants to win. I love the boys' chances.

It is a crazy world when T. Glenn is considered stable, but compared to TO he is a saint...That right there is a good enough reason to believe that the "Boys" are in for a bumpy ride this season...

word.

hey anonymous, nothing's holding them back yet. the season hasn't started. but it looks like there's much more than injuries that could cause problems.

that "D" is more than solid, though.

iggles cowboys and redskins games against one another are gonna be 13-10 goonfests!!! can't WAIT!

the gi'nts on the other hand, have a leaky d, but can put up points.
