one of those draft "what if" scenarios thread

1)the Titans could have had both Leinart and LenDale, taking plays from with Norm Chow....  considering their clusterfuk at QB this would have been the most ideal scenario, imo.  what better way to have two rookies starting on offense than to have players that played together, along with their old offensive coordinator??

2)on a similar note, the Jets could have gotten both as well.  Considering their scenario, they would be in much better shape, imo.  they should have at least gotten Leinart because they are gonna need something soon.  taking Young as the first QB will probably be considered a draft blunder in 5 years or less.

3)also, on the Saints end.. they could have drafted Daniel Bullocks to play SS while they already had his brother, Josh, from last year's draft at FS (both were taken 2nd round, pick 40 overall)...  they both played in the same defense at the same time while in Nebraska... how do you not take advantage of that kind of thing?  two twin brothers who played together at Nebraska*(and even before that), playing together possibly career long wise with the same team in the pros??  wouldn't you think that chemistry and trust would be miles above what you could get with two players who've never played together, or had to give time to develop?  isn't that something that is invaluable at the Safety position?  eh, i think it would have been a win-win situation.. as it was, the Saints traded back some spots and took a SS out of Alabama, Roman Harper (whom i am a big fan of, but... how can you pass on twin brothers both playing safety together again?)

info from Daniel's Detroit Lions page:
• Attended Hixson (Chattanooga, Tenn.) High School where he played quarterback, teaming in the backfield with his brother Josh, while helping Hixson to four Class 4A playoff appearances.
• Took over the starting quarterback duties as a sophomore, without previously playing the position, and totaled more than 50 touchdowns in his career.
• As a senior, Bullocks was the Player of the Year in Chattanooga by the Times Free Press and was Mr. Tennessee for football in Class 4A.
• In 2000, he rushed for 1,432 yards with 21 touchdowns and passed for 309 yards and five touchdowns. He also caught 10 passes and had 43 tackles as a free safety with four interceptions and two fumble recoveries.
• Earned Class 4A first-team All-State honors, and both he and Josh were named to the Associated Press Tennessee All-Star Team.
• The twins both played in the Tennessee vs. Kentucky All-Star Game, and Daniel earned MVP honors after returning an interception 104 yards for a touchdown in Tennessee’s 30-20 victory.
• Daniel and Josh visited Nebraska and Auburn together before selecting the Huskers.

Josh's bio page:

Teammate of twin brother, Daniel, who started alongside Josh as a strong safety for Nebraska and was drafted at the same exact overall selection number (40th overall in 2006 by Detroit) as his brother was... Josh is the younger of the twins by one minute...Josh and Daniel are cousins of former U.S. Olympic gold medalist Evelyn Ashford...Attended Hixson (Chattanooga, Tenn.) HS...In high school, Josh took handoffs from his brother as the team's running back and primarily played cornerback on defense...

opportunities like that don't come along very often.  but i guess i don't know dick about spotting potential tho and that's why i'm not a GM or talent scout.    i just think it's one of those things you have to take a chance on, especially if you're planning to take a SS anyway   even on draft day i was thinking this.

anyway, there's a brain fart for ya.  anyone else got any grandiose draft hindsight "what ifs?" worth mentioning?
