What's the deal with Haynes?

Bears giving up on Haynes already? I know he's had injuries. Who is backing up Brown and Uglyaye?

Actually he's been pretty healthy. The story on him is that Jerry Angelo drafted him for Greg Blache's defense during the Jauron era when we wanted a big D-line. The next year, the Lovie era began and he was not the ideal fit for the smaller, quicker D-line that Lovie likes to run. They asked him to lose weight, he did, and was an average player for us. Last year they asked him to regain the weight and he complied, and again was an average player for us.

The guy seems like a real nice, humble, soft spoken person with a great attitude. He just didn't work out in what our current D is trying to do. I'm sure he'll catch on somewhere and have a decent carreer.

Isn't Alex Brown like 6-4 and 270? Haynes and Uglyaye run about that size too. What is the difference? Haynes isn't as quick as Brown? I'm sure he isn't as quick as Uglyaye.

He sounded pretty pissed that the Bears cut him. Sounded more like frustration though. Most likely he will be picked up by a 3-4 team. What will happen though is that the Vikings will add him and bolster the D end position with even more average players. I hate the Vikings.

yes it is the speed that is at issue...Haynes did a great job of stuffing the run...plays it very well. He also would get some pressure on the QB, but not consistantly, in Lovies scheme DEs must keep constant pressure on the QB. In the cover 2 DE speed is a must, Haynes will catch on somewhere and do a good job

hey you guys got a great kid in Mike Hass, the Saint fans loved him but i guess we had too many other possession receivers on the roster to keep him.  i am glad he signed on with another team, and from what i heard Chicago was a favorite team of Mike's.  so that's good for him, i'm still pulling for him *but not your team

The Saints fans sound like the fairweather fans in Miami. I remember a Dolphin playoff game not selling out because no one thought they had a shot (which they didn't). What kind of bush league town can NOT sell out a playoff game at home?

I wonder how New Orleans and Miami fans would cope with a decade of crap that includes everything from Moses Moreno to Dave Wanstache.

That was pretty inappropriate and uncalled for. I understand you are kidding (I hope) but thats pretty inconsiderate considering what people from Louisiana went through. I worked my a$$ for the Red Cross during Katrina doing a 2 week assignment in Mississippi running Red Cross shelters. Then I came back and helped relocate victims in our small town in Tennessee. Putting kids in the local school, finding hotels willing to donate rooms, handing out meal vouchers, etc. It was hard to even watch.

You were working for the Red Cross during Katrina? I FINALLY get your username!

~Zing~

A few close friends of mine died while trying to repair power after Katrina, but c'mon people, lighten up. He wasn't being mean spirited.

I wonder if you guys got as offended when President Dumb**** was at that dinner party looking behind chairs and plants while saying "Those weapons of mass destruction gotta be round here somewhere, ahyuk".

I know what you fukin meant, it just wasn't funny. You should have fukin been in Mississippi and Louisiana pulling fukin bodies of humans and animals out of houses and then have to strip the whole fukin house down and clean every inch of it. So don't fukin talk to me about "how much sympathy" you showed towards Saints fans and think you did something good. I worked through Katrina and Rita and all the other local disasters we have had. Blow me.

By the way, when your buddy GoBears said he hoped to god Brett Favre would blow out his fukin knee so he would be sukin dik in Louisiana, I didn't hear you say anything was wrong with that.

I know you guys are trying to be cute and think you are funny, but it's a sore spot for some people like myself. My screen name is a reference to Gilbert "Grave Digger" Brown by the way.

Saints fans have ALWAYS supported this team, i don't know where everyone gets this dumb ignorant idea that Saints aren't supported in this area?  did you read some dumbass sports writer make an ignorant statement and run with it?  one trip to New Orleans and it's easy to see that the Saints are very much loved, and not only just in New Orleans, but multi state wide.  and that's "fact" btw.

as to your other statements, i have no fukkin clue wtf you are trying to say.  we have Tom Benson as an owner, and we still support this franchise.  we love this team no matter what, and we accept the losing gracefully by sticking to our team.  do you think Los Angeles would support a 40 year losing history team with only 1 playoff win EVER?  i seriously doubt it.  that's what makes Saints fans better than other teams fans, because we don't need to use winning as an excuse to be a fan.  this team is more than just "football" it is our way of being a part of history, even sometimes ugly, but we know that our day will come...  hopefully!  when it does, it will be that much sweeter for us because we will really appreciate it and not take it for granted.

if you want to talk "bandwagon" fans, try LSU fans.  that is the biggest bunch of bandwagon riders EVER.

secondly, i'm not even gonna go into the whole "Katrina" comments (made by the iowa/illinois dufus).  you're an ugly person, may your god have mercy on your putrid soul.  i housed evacuees in my own home for over a month after, even though in my area we had no power and no gas, no groceries.  New Orleans is a special place, with special people.  but you believe what you want to believe, asshat.  i guess that makes you "hardcore" to spout a bunch of verbal diarrhea.

On a somewhat lighter and more hopeful note.

Don't lose hope Saints fans. The New England Patriots were once THE dregs of the league in the early 90's.....now look at them.

I was a frustrated Pats fan back then. Anything can happen. Keep the faith.
