So, you're all excited about beating the lowly Lions. Well I've got news for ya...you Cheeseheads are in for a BIG reality check next Monday night at the Linc!
As I said before, ALL you Pack fans are in for a RUDE awakening on Mon. Night!!!
No Lito Shepphard (doubtful), probably no Roderick Hood (doubtful), a dizzy Brian Dawkins (questionable)(who got TRUCKED by former QB MICHAEL ROBINSON), a dinged up Westbrook (questionable), and a dinged up Stallworth (questionable). The Packers biggest injury, Ryan Pickett is questionable with an ankle injury that he suffered in the game and then went back in.
Oh but it's ok, you have Hank Baskett and Joselio Hanson...excuse me.
With your #2 and #3 corners gone, and your #1 safety worrying about another concussion, Favre and Driver and Jennings are going to have a field day on your secondary.
Don't forget, the 49ers were starting to make a comeback and the Giants really had a comeback. Don't overlook the Packers my friend.
Not to be the devils advocate but what will it say to you if Green Bay gets thier azzes beat on Monday?
Depends on what happens in the game. If Favre sucks and loses the game for the Packers and all the Eagles did was NOT lose...then I would state the reasons for the loss (i.e. Favre sucked, defense fell apart, etc.)
If the Eagles come out swinging and just whoop the Packers, and the Packers still played a good game, I would say the Eagles did a good job and they deserved to win and let Vanni and all the other Beagle fans here gloat all they want.....just like I let the Bares fans.
That would be the end of it.
If the roles are reversed and if McNabb loses the game and the Packers didn't do anything but not lose....I would blame the loss on whoever was weak for the Eagles (McNabb, defense, etc.).
If the Packers come out swinging and just pound the Eagles and the Eagles totally sucked....I would say something like, "Man did the Eagles BLOW!" and then I would ask Vanni when the Packers were suppose to get their "RUDE awakening".
That would be the end of it.
I don't like to gloat alot (like some members here)...I like to gloat a little when my team comes out and beats the other team soundly....thats deserved.
Yeah, say all you want about our secondary, but our DL is gonna be plowing into your backfield all night long, and that'll cause Lord Favre all sorts of trouble! Last time I checked, GB's O-line crumbles like the Berlin Wall! So Cheeseheads, be scared, be REAL scared!
Okay, The Pack is my second favorite team in the NFL these days but I am facing the facts this season...both of my teams (The Chiefs and The Pack) just all out suck this year. But on the bright side for me, I think the Chiefs have a better chance to pull up into the middle of the power rankings than Green Bay does. That is if Trent Green gets back and the O-Line stays healthy.
westbrook was questionable before the 49ers game, too. did you see how he played in THAT game? and the knee isn't as swollen this week as it was last week.
we also beat them without stallworth, sheperd, and hood for most of the second half.
you conveniently left mcnabb out of your analysis, too.
and as Vanni says, our D-Line is probably just too much for your o-line. Fav-ruh WILL throw the occasional pick under pressure, no?
anything can happen, but i think alotta points get scored in this game, but the Pack won't have the stuff to keep up.

Your Dline is certainly not as good as The BEARS Dline, and Green rushed for 103 yds., and Favre was sacked 3 times.
Your team is not as good as you think. The refs handed your team the 49ers game...and everyone knows it. 3 huge calls that accounted for a 21 point swing in favor of the Beagles, in a game decided by 14.
In addition, the 49ers passed for 293 yds. on the EAGLES "GREAT" defense with an inferior QB and inferior WRs to the Packers. No INTs to boot. That was with your #2 and #3 CB still in for most of the game. 3 young RBs accounted for like 84 yds. on the ground and a young QB not known to be a speedster ran for 39 yds.
The 49ers Oline is not much better than the Packers either....really sounds like they DOMINATED the FUKIN 49ers. Your Dline is probably as good as the Lions, and the Packers Oline handled the LIons all day last week.
Fav-ruh is going to have one of the best days of his career on your "GREAT" defense.
instead of continuing to discuss this based on the points that YOU made, and to which i responded, you come at me with this barrage of other crap.
do you think stuff like "your team is not as good as you think" and "their line is as good as your line, which the pack handled, so the pack will handle your line" is effective argumentation?
sheesh, digger, this is how seven year olds analyze football games.
didn't i say "anything can happen"? it may very well play out the way you've described. i know that. i'm not delusional. but i think most of the football world would be pretty surprised. based on what we've seen so far, it would be pretty hard to favor the packers in this game. and you've hardly proven yourself objective in previous threads.
ahhh.....the old "i'm obviously smarter than you routine" or is it the "i'm more mature than you routine" or the classic "i'm more objective than you crapola".
Take off your bird poop covered glasses.....your team had to have help from the refs to beat one of the weakest teams in the league, and let one of the most inconsistant teams in the league come back from 17 points down to win by 6 in OT. Sounds like a championship ball club.....
you can stop accusing me of thinking that the birds are a great team this year. i never said they are.
you will search this message board in vain for any posts by me claiming that the birds are anything but above average.
underrated in preseason polls? sure. competetive for a division title and a playoff spot? absolutely. questionable at linebacker, rb, and now secondary? admittedly.
should they beat the packers on monday night? yes they should.
will they? probably (no matter how many posts you write to the contrary containing the word "poop"). but there are no guarantees. of course, i'm fair enough to have already said that a few times, but you'd rather not acknowledge it.
basically, you want to argue about something that hasn't happened yet. most people don't think it will happen the way you do. not only are you arguing against the odds, but you're arguing with absolutely certainty against those odds. that doesn't make you wrong. it just gives you more people to argue with. that's really all there is to this discussion.
so go have a baby talk contest with someone else. i'm sure there are plenty of people out there who would be willing to indulge you.
as i've tried to let digger know (and he'd rather argue than acknowledge this), i DO think the pack can come in here and take one from us. favre proved last week that he's still capable. but i also think that's less likely than the birds winning.
digger continues to suggest that beating the niners was no great shakes, and it wasn't. and was i disappointed by the heat the 9ers applied near the end? of course.
but the fact of the matter is, beating the packers might even be seen as less of a feat. the pack's d is porous, much more so than the 9ers. even the previously stalled lion's offense got healthy against the pack last week. suddenly, due to last week's game, kitna and even the long dormant kevin jones have pulses. the pack's o-line has potential, but is still very much a work in progress (and i'm being kind). the 9ers line, however, was opening holes for much bigger yardage in the two games before philly than in the game against philly.
so it seems like the birds should have an easy time.
however, with the birds d's tendency to give up the big play (on display in EACH game they've played, much to my disappointment), and favre's ability to take over a game, anything can happen.
i've said this all along, despite the birds' status as the favorites in this game. digger, on the other hand, is absolutely certain his team will win, which just seems dumb (and fun).
Well, I have ABSOLUTE confidence that they are NOT going to come in here and beat us Monday night! And I forgot to mention, Donovan McNabb is gonna have a FIELD day against that Peckers D!
THE PECKERS WILL NOT, I REPEAT, WILL NOT COME IN HERE AND BEAT US ON MONDAY NIGHT!!! AND DONOVAN MC NABB IS GONNA HAVE A HUGE NIGHT AGAINST THAT PECKERS D!
