That sounds like a horrible trade....for Atlanta at least. Hall is a top shutdown corner and finding a special one of those is way more difficult than finding a second tier reciever. Not only that, Vick wouldn't know what to do with Branch even if he did have him. Branch simply benefited from being in a good situation for a while in New England and catching balls from Brady. Vick aint Brady. Branch isn't a Steve Smith or a Chad Johnson either. He is more like a Reggie Wayne who is fortunate enough to be in a fantastic offense but whether or not he could be a true number 1 is unknown. With Hall out there you're taking away half the field for most average qb's and that is worth a whole lot more.

Hell, the Redskins traded Bailey for a RB, RB's are about as rare as water. Seeing as Hall couldn't hold Bailey's water for him I thought it was a "could happen".
I personally thought Branch was average at best, but Seattle gave him almost $40 mil, and us a 1st rounder (that is getting higher every week), so Hall did not seem "unreasonable".
I know it didn't, couldn't, and wouldn't happen, but it is an interesting "what if".
My big idea yesterday was that the Patriots should have tried to trade Branch to Atlanta for DeAngelo Hall.
Champ Bailey was traded for a "better than average" RB, so why not?
I would've LOVED to get Hall, and Atlanta desperatly needs a good WR.
Atlanta wouldn't make the trade. They value Hall as one of the very core players on their defense. He's really coming into his own now and is still under contract for what....2 more years???......Why would they want to trade him??? I think he holds considerably more value to Atlanta than would Deion Branch even though Deion is a very good receiver.
The Oakland Raiders on the other hand were complete fools and traded Doug Gabriel to the Pats for 5th round pick. I still can't get over that one.

Doug Gabriel has played in all of 2 games, and scored 2TDs, Branch never had more than 5 in a season.
Gabriel for a 5th, and a first for Branch. I have said it before.... Pioli should be charged with grand larceny for that theft!
