where's the doubters?

lately there have been plenty of NFC North fans in here telling me the Bears aren't that good, and many other fans telling me they haven't played anyone yet. Were you watching Sunday night? That my friends was championship football...I don't care who they played, Sunday night no-one was beating them....period.

I have listened to many self-proclaimed football "experts" tell me how Grossman isn't a NFL QB, he sure looks like one to me, according to Madden a young Farve (funny....thats the exact same thing Ron Wolf said when he wanted the Packers to draft him!) the kid is the real deal, if he can stay healthy, but the same can be said of every player in the NFL

the very same "experts" were singing how the Bears wasted thier draft, they desperately needed a playmaker at WR (you mean like 3 TDs for over 40 yds each?..Mr Berrian) or a stud TE (quick check what TE leads all the TEs in yardage despite missing a game and a half already.....Desmond Clark, and of all the super TEs that the bears passed on draft day?...way down the list)

the silence from all of thier critics is deafening....I would keep an eye on your upper lips if I were you....with GOBEARS having a stache fetish, and the way the Bears are playing....alot of you guys could end up looking like an eighties porn star....LOL

I would say it is MUCH too early to be getting all saucy about the Bears. There record is made up of 3 cupcakes and a Seahawks team that has been so-so this year with thier best player on the bench.

I could be in here crowing about how the Patriots "have it all figured out now", how we have "always had to lose the ugly one to right the ship" (Buffalo 03' Steelers 04'). How "now we are right and we are going back to the BOWL". I would have more right to say that because the Patriots have won several of them lately, while the Bears have been sucking a$$.

I am not doing that however because it would be premature at best and stupid at worst. I would have more right to say that because the Patriots have won several of them lately, while the Bears have been sucking a$$.

I like their coach, but I will have my doubts until they actually win something.

Say what you'd like, but the Bears' performance on Sunday was flat out dominating. If Shaun Alexander was worth 31 points, he should be getting paid alot more money (as Hunter Hillenmyer said about Urlacher when the Colts destroyed us in 2004).

Sure, a key player could get injured at anytime and ruin our season, but all things being the same, the Bears have the NFC inside track to the big dance.

After 4 weeks, and 1 decent opponent!

not to mention the fact that due to "wasting" thier draft on D guys, they are stacked DEEP on the D side of the ball, gentlemen....that was a rookie 5th round draft pick beating Walter Jones not once but twice, another rookie starting at safety.

Now I will agree that the Offense relies on Grossman, but there is depth behind him (our 3rd stringer had 10 wins last  year) depth at RB, and we have some youngl WRs starting to step up

The Seahawks blew out the Giants...embarrassed them. Those 2 were among the front runners for the NFC championship, most everyone would have agreed last week. Now only 2 days after the Bears took Seattle to the woodshed, I'm not supposed to be "crowing"?

2 quick questions

#1. Did you watch Sundays nights game

#2. If you did, giving an honest answer who is YOUR pick for NFC champion at this point, and just to reinforce this thought look at the Bears schedule...except the 3 road games in a row (which will be tough, all 3 teams are dangerous) do you see any probable losses?

It's not after 4 weeks, The Bears went 11-5 last year with a 4th round rookie at QB and have clearly improved on both sides of the ball plus special teams this year. As the cliche goes, they've taken the next step. On the other hand, the teams that were supposed to compete, look to have regressed. You add all that up and it equals Bears in the Superbowl. Name a team in the NFC that looks better? All of the "elite" teams have inferior records and also have struggled against weak opponents.

Look at history, domination early in a season means less than nothing by the end of that same season.

I am not saying the Bears won't win the NFC (because GOD that entire conference SUCKS), but to declare them a lock 4 week into the season is a bit retarded.

The 02' Patriots went 9-7, and 4 weeks into 03' they were 2-2.

.

.

They finished that season 14-2, won the Super Bowl, and the NEXT Super Bowl.

Well of course they aren't a lock, but they do have the inside track. Let me rephrase, UP TILL NOW, the Bears have looked like the best team in football, and the Colts of course can be thrown into that conversation as well.

The Colts can run and barely go away from the Jets with a win, I don't think I would include them there.

Cincy seemed like a contender, but the a$$ whoopin the Pats gave them taints that. The Eagles look good, but they are pretty banged up right now.

I would credit the Pats if they had not had thier lunch served to them by Denver... AGAIN! Denver will get to the play-offs and if you can't best them, then forget the whole thing.

Honestly, nowhere NEAR enough football has been played for this conversation to even be happening.

Upon further review the bears really won't be tested. They have a late season game against the Pats, and the rest of their schedule is a joke.

The Pats only have 2 more games against "quality teams", one being that same Bears game.

I guess both teams are going to have to use that 1 game to assess their situations.

a bit of clarification for you ....no where did I say they were super bowl winners.....I said they PLAYED championship football Sunday, and only said they were my current frontrunners for the championship.....once again...I'll ask you frankly...WHO IS YOUR NFC PICK RIGHT NOW?    If you had to pick today.

You're assessment of the AFC is pretty solid, good reasoning behind all the choices (both the plusses and the minuses of each team) but what is your assessment of the other conference?

Even though they're in a week division, the Bears are front runners right now.  I wouldn't say 3-1 for the Seahawks is "so-so" football, but I don't think they're strong enough to be considered a power house.  I am also suprised the Redskins do not have a better record, they have the talent, the coaching.  So I'd say:

1st in NFC-Bears

2nd is Philly

3rd is Falcons

The basis on this is points for/againts.  The Bears look like superstars in those stats.

And how the f*ck the Rams have won 3 games already is beyond me.  I don't care, they still suck.

i agree with Philly as #2 but the Falcons are not even top 5. 3 and 4 and 5 would be Dallas, Skins, and G Men, not necessarily in that order. I'm not going by records, but more by what I've seen.

I got to go along with Miami, thats the way I rate them, good Ds shut Vick down, and I also wonder how in the hell St.Louis has won 3

G-men in the top 5???  To be honest, I don't think that team is anywhere NEAR the top 5 right now!

The G-men are streaky, but when on they play well....an arguement could be made for Carolina, St. Louis has a good record but they aren't playing that well. Atlanta looks good everywhere but the QB spot, New orleans has been looking fair....that #5 spot could be a few teams

..... it SUCKS!

The NFC will send someone to the Superbowl because the rules don't allow the AFC to play against itself. The NFC can't even compete.

The "NFC SUCKS" is a comment with years of history to support it.

Soudns like sour grapes for some reason...  This is the NFL.  You beat the teams put in front of you.  And not only have the Bears beaten them, they've destroyed 3 of 4 of them.  Yes, it's only the 1st quarter of the season.  But based on that and the schedule, the Bears appear to be in the best position to make a run at the Super Bowl.

sour grapes...or fear that he's seeing a team that has the possibilities of ending said domination

despite the fact that the AFC didn't win the Superbowl last year...it was given to them...LOL...god...will that restart an arguement

Screw da Bears and their delicate QB.

I'd have more respect for them if their HC wasn't named for a FEMALE character on Gilligan's Island. He gets his husband Thurston to buy off the other teams so da Bears can win. A$$holes.

Urlacher needs to quit pretending with football and go into the sex-tape business with his girlfriend Paris Hilton.....he'd probably be better at that.

Then there's the Jew hating secondary......one more reason to respect them.

The center that fights his fellow Olinemen......sounds like a classy bunch.

The RB of the future that no one likes or will block for......sounds like they're going places.

Lets add it up: fragile QB + Gilligan's Island + sex maniac + anti-semites + guy who breaks teammates faces  + unpopulare RB = COMPLETE COLLAPSE SOON!!!

When it happens....when GoBears balloon shaped head deflates....when Lost in Iowa falls off his horse.......when MiamiBear gets trampled in the water by Cubans coming to America......I will laugh.....thats no lie....

Just kidding....but seriously, I will.....

Nice cut-downs!  I've got to send those into Chris Rock!  Pure genius!  I'd think about quitting your day job for getting a shot as a Second City cast member!

I'm so glad you hate the Bears so much!  It means they're doing their job well!  ...and you have to suffer through it!

Bear down!

My kool aid is better than that Bear piss you have Sh1tcago. I love how when the Packers are winning, Packer fans still find something to critisize about the game, but when the Bears are winning, Bears fans get in line to toss Lovie's salad. Desperation is a stinky cologne (thank you Super Troopers). To all Bears fans....suck it.....go screw your Sh1tcago style pizza.....

Aw sh!t! It's time for the premature pounding of the chest. I believe last year it started in the preseason or after game 1. Working on your patience Just Fukin witcha!

A couple of things though. The Giants suck. They sucked last year, just like the whole NFC east. So the Seahawks blew out a team they beat last year, but that game (last season)was only close because of the infamous refereeing that got Holmgren in trouble for announcing the apology from the head office.

Philly nuber 2? I'm a fan, but they got problems, injuries being part of it, but their secondary sucks, or the defensive schemes Jim Johnson is putting them in. I don't really know what it is. They haven't really played anyone yet and coughed up one to the sh!tty Giants that they had well in hand. And Manning sucks!

The AFC is just as sh!tty. History proves what? That the Pats can win 3 SB's by 3 points? What else?

When the Packers are winning...when was that?  3 years ago?  I'm not sure you followed last year...many a Bears fan were not happy at all with the passing game.  Well, that's obviously changed.

Greave Digger, please start digging, and jump in.  You're not going to like the next few years in the NFL as the Bears become a force and the Packers get high draft picks.

Feels good to finally have a reason to talk sh1t doesn't it? Now you know how I have felt for about 15 years......mark it down, next year, the Packers will beat the Bears, w/ or w/o Brett Favre. I will expect the same fukin sh1t I wrote to the dufus Beagles fans about their triumph over the greatest franchise in sports history.....but go ahead, have your 15 minutes of fame.

You're right, it does feel good!  I'm not marking down anything you put up after you chickened out on the mustache bet with GoBears and MiamiBear.  Your credibility on that and just about anything else is zero.

A new era has begun, the tables are turned, and now you're just going to have to deal with it.  Good luck with that re-buiild!
