Maroney: 74 touches for 560 yards and 3TDs

Interesting to say the least

Maroney was the best back coming out last year. Hands down.

ROUND 1
Kamerion Wimbley - 12 tackles, 3 sacks
Tamba Hali - 14 tackles, 1.5 sacks
Mathias Kiwanuka - 3 tackles, 0 sacks

ROUND 5
Da Bears' Mark Anderson - 7 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and he's not even a starter. He made Walter Jones look like Robert Gallery.

I feel that way about our backup DE as well. Guy named Jarvis Green; jumped on Manning's back 3 times during the 03' playoff game, and jumped on Palmer 3 times this past Sunday. He recovered his own forced fumble on one of the Palmer sacks as well.

At this point I think it's probably safe to say he shouldn't really be classified as "a back-up". The Pats have been mixing in more 4-3 basically because Jarvis Green is too good to have sitting on the bench. He's a DE in the 4-3 and is a beast at getting to the QB off the edge.....kinda in the same role as Dwight Freeny. When the Pats go to their 3-4 package Jarvis sits down. I'm loving this trend because it gives the Pats D even more "morphability", flexibility and deception.

With regards to the original Bush vs Maroney comparision:

I'm really pleased with what I'm seeing in Maroney. It seems as long as the line can give him a hole he absolutely explodes when he gets to the next level. Plus he's got the speed to take it all the way. However, against Denver the holes weren't there and his ability to find a crease and stick it for short yardage was not at a level that we're used to seeing with Dillon for example.

I don't see enough of Reggie Bush other than high-lights but it's obvious his shiftyness/change of direction and ability to make people miss are incredible.

JBN......how do those stats break down? I'm curious about "All Purpose Yards" vs straight hand-off running yards. Bush returns kick-offs or punts too and I'd be interested how it all compares.

He does.

This can change any day if Maroney has another game like the Denver one, and Bush has a "coming out party" game. For right now, Maroney is the man.

27 Touches, 229 , 2 TD's...even better for a third rounder (J.Norwood), you guessed it - Atlanta Falcons.  "The fastest guy in pads I've ever seen" - Mike Vick
