Judging by tonights horrific game, and the first four weeks, you gotta ask is this the worst team ever put together in NFL history? Is this the first team who ever had a TRUE legitamate shot at an 0-16 season? Moss saying "fuk andrew" lamont jordan chewing on a towel, the big D-lineman sands body slamming tatum bell, how about the backup tackle getting called for a false start 5 times and giving up 2 sacks?
even at 4-1, id be concerned if i was a broncos fan. Jake Plummer isnt winning anything, the defense and running game is, maybe its time to put Cutler in?
I wonder alot if the problems being faced by plummer are rooted in the fact that his receivers totally blow. Rod Smith may be the greatest undrafted player of all time, but he simply is no longer a number 1 receiver at age 36. Javon Walker, for all his amazing talent, is still just over a year off of tearing his ACL, and I never really thought of him as much more than a deep threat. That's clearly how the broncos are using him anyway. And noone says anything about the fact that the broncos plain cut plummer's favorite go to guy, the big putz who is now catching balls from soon to be pro bowl qb david carr, who also stole away plummer's offensive coordinator. Over the last two years, the putz caught over 70 passes for over 1000 yards and 55 first downs from plummer. Who is getting those balls now? Cause stephen alexander is not and never was the answer. In fact, on the check list of things that are different this year for jake, let's see: lost kubiak, lost mike anderson, lost putzier, lost lelie, coach trying to replace him with first round rookie. Cut the guy some slack, and blame shanahan for treating passing weapons as interchangeably as he treats running ones.

I disagree, putz is very replacable, and if your even hinting his presence is what boosted david carr's play this year i have to laugh. Jwalk is a significant upgrade over Lelie. The run game hasnt lost a step without mike anderson, although i'll give u Kubiak, thats a big blow - but even so, it doesnt take a genius to see Plummer's play has dropped off from a year ago - his lone good season. It honestly would NOT hurt this team at all puting Cutler in the game, they still would win and would not kill his confidence, they drafted him 11th overall, obviuosly he is the QB of the future. Put him in now, it wont hurt the season and it will jump start his development.
Also, i think its a detriment to Plummer's character that the drafting of Cutler didnt make him play the best football of his career, i guess thats why id take a guy like drew brees over jake plummer ANY day.
I don't think we can start making historical NFL comparisons only 6 weeks into a season. But for arguments stake, here is a list recently compiled by ESPN's Page 2 when discussing the worst NFL teams of all time. I've removed those teams that played prior to 1970 as few of us will have seen those teams to compare them properly. And I'm shocked that neither the 99 or 00 Browns made the list... those teams sucked pretty hard. Now where would you put the Raiders in this list?
This Oakland team is not the worse team in NFL history. Say whatever you want, but the Raiders defense isn't that bad and has played damn good at times this season.
They may end up being the worst offense ever, though. Horrible offensive line. Overpaid RB who is average at best. Terrible QB play. Terrible offensive coaching, game-planning, play calling.
At of course, the biggest joke in the NFL, Mr, FruitShake.
The thing about the Raiders is that they are able to drive down the field, but there comes a point in the drive where they find a way to screw it all up with stupid mistakes, penalties, etc. That's one of what could be a whole litany of reasons why they have been so bad this year.
However, I'm thinking the Raiders might be able to get their first victory of the season this upcoming Sunday vs. Arizona (if you can believe that)!
Tell you what though...Against small defensive fronts they are going to have a degree of success. Did anyone see how much time Walter had back there to throw...all fukn game?
It was sickening, considering that I took Denver laying 15 in hopes Plummer would show up for one game this year.
Fuk you Jake. Its time for Cutler. You cannot get any less efficient than he has been this year. Against good teams and bad...
Fuk you jake the snake....I got snakebit once again.
Stop Blaming his recievers. He underthrows, he overthrows he gets caught in the pocket and leveled. Its like he forgot to take his fukn ritalin this year. You are blaming rod smith and Javon Walker ferfuksakes?
Cummon. Plummer has regressed in the worst way this year. Fuk him..Cutler lets go.
I probably should have emphasized it a little more, but I think the loss of Mike Anderson is not to be undervalued. He was by far the better all around runner last year for the broncos. Bell was fast and quick, and that's about it. But every time tatum bell was in the backfield on passing downs, jake plummer was getting hammered because bell cannot block a thrown sack of potatoes. I think that is alot of the reason behind the training camp declaration of Mike Bell as the starter. I haven't been watching broncos games, but I wager mike is a much better blocker than tatum, if he isn't quite as good a runner. It reminds me of the 2001 season where the baltimore ravens were without jamal lewis so they brought in a collection of running backs to try to get by. They had some guys who were very average but could block and catch. And they had some other guys who were great runners but were as effective in pass blocking as laying out a couple of rakes and hoping the defensive linemen hit themselves in the face with them three stooges style. Someone who has been watching the broncos play, let me know whether tatum bell has learned to block yet.

Yep, and that is when they can actually get a play off without there o-line jumping off sides.
