BOLD mid season projection

I hate to admit the following, but now my team is basically out of the running, I have a Super Bowl winner prediction:

Jacksonville.

This team is flying under the radar.  Garrard is a solid QB who can manage a game, run around and make plays, and lead the Jags under pressure.

Fred Taylor needs to stay healthy.  And I have a feeling this will finally be the year he does.  Jones-Drew is a pain in the a$$.  The WR's are coming together and pose a size advantage over anyone.

If anyone can topple Indy, it will be this tough division foe.  The defense is sick, and they are starting to get healthy.

The Jags have already got their lousy games out of the way.  They will finish 11-5 as a wild card and run through the playoffs, into the SUper Bowl.

I hate DelDumba$$, Wayne Weaver, the entire organization, and their terrible fans.

But I have a feeling about this Jacksonville team.

Jacksonville is certainly capable, but I think Del Idiot finds a way to blow it.

If the Colts don't run the table (and if you they don't do it this year, blow 'em up), my AFC dark horse is San Diego (if they can limit the dumb penalties on defense - last week the secondary single handedly kept the Browns in the game).

it IS a bold prediction, and not without its merits, i think. i would've been totally on board with it before they looked so beatable in games vs. the texans and the eagles.

but i agree that del rio's an idiot (i don't know which coach was dumber at the end of the first half of the iggs / jags game two weeks ago, but let's just say neither of them distinguished themselves).

in a playoff game, i'd give teams coached by belichick or shanahan or even martyball an edge just o n the merits of their coaches alone.

but the qb thing in j-ville is hardly settled, too. i like garrard, but can he really get IT done?

good food for thought.

As much as I hate to say it, the Patriots got a real good shot. Brady is playing as good as ever. Solid receiving targets. Excellent RB trio w/ Dillon, Maroney, and Faulk. Solid Oline. The defense is a very solid unit also. I think after playing them and losing, the Patriots would be ready for the Colts in the playoffs.

I agree though, J-ville has a good shot as does San Diego.

I can't see it happening.  They will be outcoached in the playoffs, plain and simple.  Also, they don't have anyone on offense who can totally take over a game.  Taylor is past that point, in my opinion.  I think teams will commit to stopping the run, lock up on their mediocre wideouts, and force Garrard to beat them.

They'll find that they miss Peterson in the middle come playoff time too.

The Pats beat them decisively in the first round last year. It was a dominating win. Have the Jags improved that much???

I DO like Garrard better as a QB than Byron Leftwich though.

Gerrard is way better than fat azz. But they lost to the Texans, come on.

And I don't want to hear that manipulative, hollywood bullshet, Anygiven Sunday.

Fcuk that! If your good your good. Synnapsis- Jacksonville better with Gerrard but Super Bowl, let alone winner, your on CRACK.

Considering that the Jags got SWEPT by the lowly Texans this year, I don't think they even DESERVE to be a surprise team, especially with how poorly they play against inferior opponents!

I do however, expect them to find a way to beat the G-men next Monday night!

Agreed. Leftwich sails too many passes and has no wheels whatsoever. He has been propped up by that Defense for 2 years now. He hasn't gotten any better... and hasn't gotten anymore accurate. That and he doesn't seem capable of getting into any shape whatsoever.
