I can start two of these RBs. Tiki is my stud but he's playing a tough defense in Chicago. (They did give up a lot of yards to Ronnie Brown) My other two RBs are playing soft run defenses.
I have Tiki Barber against Chicago, Julius Jones vs Arizona, and Mike Bell vs Oakland. Who should I start? Remember, I can start two.
Too easy, start Tiki and Jones. Da Bears ain't gonna have Urlacher this week and the cards are clueless right now, both should have big games. Oakland, however has a better D than most people realize, that game might be too close for comfort.

yeah, ya just CAN'T bench tiki. he's one of those guys that you have to start, no matter the matchup.
the other two are a tough call.
on the one hand, jones is like a guaranteed 80 yard guy, maybe less, maybe more, and maybe a touchdown (btw., i'm also a julius jones owner, and i'm sure you'll understand when i say i'd like to see marion barber run over in the parking lot). it always seems like a miracle when the cowboys leave jones in and give him a red zone carry and he sails to the end zone the way he did against carolina. i'm thinking that he might break a long one against arizona, but there's no guarantee, right?
bell, on the other hand, DOES get the ball on the goal line. while it's true that oakland has a better d than people realize, it's their pass d that has come to play, not their run d. as you point out, EVEN mo mo got his yards against the raiders. they only shut him down when the hawks had a comfy lead, and the weather made it difficult to pass. i would strongly consider putting bell in there.

Youd have to be nuts not to start Mike Bell at Oakland .Tiki is a no brainer. Teams are just pounding the ball at them. Their pass defense is one of the best in the league...Tatum Bell won't see any significant carries anytime soon, and Mike Bell always gets the goaline duty even when Tatum is healthy.
I still don't trust Arizona...Which team is going to show up...That, and when will the Rookie Tony Romo show up my guess is soon.....
well, if you HAVE tomlinson or LJ on your team, then uhh....yeahh, start them.
goBears and I agree: it should be mike bell.
but ultimately, the decision is yours, man.
okay, i have a question: in my flex spot, should it be...
deshaun foster vs. tb maroney vs. nyj larry fitz vs. dallas or matt jones vs. hou.
larry fitz claims to feel all the way back, but against that secondary, you'll be hard pressed to convince me to go with him.
of course, all the talk surrounding maroney is always glowing glowing glowing. but his numbers aren't that much better than deshaun's. and i'm really skeptical of all the talk that says this is the week when deshaun loses his job to deangelo williams.
jones? well....they don't let garrard throw too much, do they? i want opinions! thanks in advance....
Personally i would go with Maroney, my thought is - The panthers are going to slpit the carries between williams and foster as they ease fosgter back in..and you dont know how they will divide the load, you pretty much know what your going to get with Maroney. That said it would depend on where you are in the standings. I tend to be more aggressive/take more risks when I am in the lead :) crush 'em good is my policy.
AS long as were asking:
Kitna vs SF or Plummer @ Oak
I own J Walker so the handcuff is tempting but Kitna has had consistantly better numbers...any thoughts?
thanks for your thoughts, purpledee. i'm leaning towards maroney, too. i just don't think that foster's the slop that all the experts are saying. and i AM tied for first in my league.
i would go with kitna. he's got a nice matchup this week, martz always wants to throw it, and although jake seems to be finding his form, i expect shanahan to run this week. as some in this thread, including myself, have noted, the raiders pass defense aint that bad. also, starting two guys from the same team is always a high risk high reward proposition, even when the offense is prolific. the broncos haven't exactly been prolific, particularly in the passing game.

Maroney all the way
Fitz has a tear in his knee and you can bet has been on light duty. Have you ever taken a week or two off of working out and come back in as fresh as you were? Hell no. Plus, Leinart , or his offensive line has really shown its true colors in the last few weeks. Leinart doesn't have legs to bail out on, contrary to what people say.
Foster....well 6 td in 500 carries says it all. Though he did have one in his last game, don't expect that to be the rule...that was the exception. Delhomme will look to light it up this game to make up for that stinker last game. That, and Fox will be more apt to blast the ball down the field after finally realizing that his defense isn't what it used to be. Though.....that may work out in Fosters favor, as they will be looking to score and score hard to gain some confidence back. You are going to get your yards out of him, but he usually doesn't do anything spectacular to get you into bonus.
Maroney has been making the most of every carry this year, the Pats efficient offense has allowed for this, and it doesn't appear as if that will change anytime soon. Surprisingly, Dillon appears to be very comfortable with sharing carries with the kid...Most likely because he has been dinged up later in the season in the last few years after being workhorsed to death down the stretch.
Is there a number one rcvr on the Jaguars? If so let me know. Jones could have 60 yards and a TD or 30 yards on 2 catches for none. And that was with Leftwich sitting tight in the pocket. Garrard is not an efficient passer, he definitely does not have a goto guy, and isnt afraid to pull it down and take off. This robs wrs of those opportunities for extra pts. They rely heavily upon their d to keep them in games and for the most part are very conservative on offense. Also keep in mind that Houston beat the piss out of them not 3 games ago.
