Jags-Steelers 05

Frankly, we don't think we'll get many e-mails along those lines, since even the most Homerish of Jag fans knows that the win at Pittsburgh was a fluke, fueled by the horrendous performance of quarterback Tommy Maddox.

Ok.....Lets start off by commenting on Tommy Maddox's horrendous performance.....It can't be because the Jags defense MADE Maddox play bad. It couldn't be. So what if this is the same defense that held Pey-Me-A-Ton Manning to a 44.0 QB rating at the RCA Dome weeks earlier. This is Tommy Maddox we are talking about. It's not like the Jags completely shut down the Steelers vaunted running game and FORCED Maddox to win the game. Maddox was just horrendous that day. Case closed. Lets not mention the fact that the Jags were missing players too, even though it was only Fred Taylor and Donovin Darius. Injuries are part of the game and can not be used as an excuse or grounds to call a game a "fluke." The Jaguars beat the Steelers at their home, plain and simple.

and Denver knocked the Patriots out of the playoffs last year.

These "once a decade" events do happen.

Jones, you are such a chump.  If you guys had Tommy Tissue starting for you that day we would have kicked your a$$ by more than 30 points.  Your defense was claiming how you were "more physical" than the Steelers.  Bullsh*t.  Tommy Maddox went out there and stole money that day, period.  The fact that we took you to overtime with such a horrendous performance shows how much better we were than you.  And by the way, we are a better team on the road if you havent noticed, jacka$$.

Last year the Steelers were clearly a better team. The Jags had the fortune of getting the Steelers on an "off week".

Sure, that win will forever stand in the books, but at the end of the day the Steelers were holding a Lombardi, and the Jags were holding their ribs because they got "ran over" by the Patriots in the WC round.

All things being equal the past is the past, and the Steelers are in deep, DEEP sh1t coming into the 06' season.

They better enjoy that SB, it is their last for a LONG time.

The reason the Steelers were able to force overtime and almost win was special teams. And some questionable calls by JDR. JDR elected to go for it one time on 4th and 2 on the Steelers 32. That's 3 points. The Jags were in Steelers territory at the end of the game but JDR called for a bomb for some strange reason. Coming into halftime the Jags had a 1st and goal at the 1 turn into 3 points. So don't act like the Jags played their best game because they didn't, just as the Steelers didn't. Check back to 2004 when both teams played their A-Game for a better measurement on how far the Steelers are ahead of the Jaguars. Not as much as you seem to think.

You take take 04' performance into account. If you do than we can easily sit here and say that the Patriots will be an unstoppable juggernaught that will win 14 games and steam-role the playoffs.

.... or that the Colts are about to break every offensive record on the books.

2 seasons ago in the modern NFL might as well be 10 seasons.

Your awful ****y for a guy with a team on the slope. Bettis retired and Roth-lisp-burger scrambled his egg pretty decent. Randel-El.... gone. Parker a fluke. Porter an a$$-clown.

Awful ****y.

Yeah, team on the slope.  Bettis gone?  Good, now that the sentimental favorite is out of the way, we can actually play our better back in Staley.  You better hope that Ben sucks now, because if he doesn't, your team is going to always gonna deal with us.  Are you one of the guys who said that Ben's first year was a fluke??  Sophomore slump??  Randle El was a decent slot receiver.  If Santurdio actually hits the field that posistion has been upgraded.  Parker a fluke?  Parker is still raw and only going to get better.  You are looking at potentially one of the most explosive backs in football just getting started.

Porter an a$$-clown?  Yes he is, and can't wait until his overrated a$$ is gone.

Willie Parker is like a million and 1 other "1 season fluke" backs. He was starting to show his true colors by the end of 05'.

Roth-lisp-burger was never any good. He is like Brady during his first season. The less they let him do the less he can screw you up.

The difference: Brady was the MAN as he led his team to an AMAZING upset after the line was 14 points against. Rothlispburger was a CLOWN and the Refs handed you a Lombardi.

That "sentimental favorite" thing you bash so easily is more than half the reason you won a Lombardi, let's see how the Steelers do this year without him. Oh, and a sub-par QB with a "wonky eye".

Yeah, true colors like breaking open the Minnesota, Cleveland, Cincinnatti and Super Bowl with long runs they entire stretch.

Yeah, Big Ben sucks.  27-4.  Tom Terrific was undefeated over his first 31 starts, right?  By the way, check out the Steelers record over the same time period without Ben.  Check out Ben's QB rating too while your at it.

Refs handed us the Lombardi.  The last person I want to hear any sh*t about calls from is a Pats fan.  No one in the recent history of the NFL in the got away with more bulls*it in the secondary than the Pats.  Oh, and did you happen to forget about the tuck rule?

Duce ran Jerome off the field in "04 and outplayed him.  He hasn't been healthy since but I am certain he can outplay Jerome.

Its true that Duce is injury prone, and he would probably not last the season if he was the feature back, but he's not...Duce will take over the Bus' role and run with it, as long as he doesnt have to take more than 15 carries a game he will stay healthy, and when he is healthy he is perfectly capable of a 10+ TD season...And by the way the majority of Pittsburgh has supported Duce since we picked him up, and we also respect him for taking a pay cut to be a part of something bigger than himself...The Steelers will have more yards rushing this season than they did last season, and we have plenty of leaders on our offense, Hines Ward, Big Ben, and one of the best veteran offensive lines in the game...Unlike in Patsy land you dont hear our backs b*tching about not getting enough carries, or the team drafting a back that may be their replacement, our backs simply line up and produce yardage and points.

Anyone who thinks that Big Ben sucks should just shut the f*ck up...He was easily the MVP of the entire playoffs, all games played on the road...Like Wallace said he is 27-4, with one of the top passer ratings in the league, oh wait, his passer rating bested Brady's by over 6 points, and was third overall behind Manning and Palmer...

Ninjab*tch, get your facts straight before you attempt to sound intelligent.
