So the Rumormill is on the story of wether or not Reggie Bush was "promised" #1 pick money. My take on this is as follows:
You CAN'T do it. You will screw up rookie slotting FOREVER.
I also doubt any franchise would tell a player that they intend to overpay him when the time comes, that is "retarded" to say the least. If you want to overpay the guy, fine, but don't put yourself in the sh1t-can MONTHS before negotiations even start.
I know that the average town fair is run better than the Saints but this claims sounds wacky even for them.
Plus I am not sure Reggie Bush is the "2nd coming" as the hype would dictate. This guy could "blow the ACL trifecta" in game 2 and never be right again.
If I am GM of the Saints I tell Reggie "too bad, soooo sad, but F you." Sign the contract or sit for a year. With the circus that already surrounds this kid he can't take the year to sit. Next year he would be lucky to go in the first round at all, then how much did you cost yourself?
he always seemed to be such a nice kid for the last 2 years. now all this crap comes out of the woodwork. really makes you think. kindof the anti-randy moss who everyone knew was a semi-turd but who mostly comes off to me as being a fairly reasonable guy who makes some mistakes. i won't begrudge a guy a mistake, like bush's mistake of getting into bed with those idiots who gave him a house, but the way he handles everything definitely makes him look completely untrustworthy and unprofessional. I know he expected to go number 1, but how stupid is he that his team is completely destroying whatever credibility he had left by allowing this media storm of him demanding number 1 money. I'm sure alot of this is the fault of his agent, because agents always seem to me to be pretty much apathetic of the needs of their clients when there's money on the line, but he needs to take control of the situation himself.
The greed and ego of some of these athletes never ceases to amaze me. I mean, is there really that much of a difference between First Pick money and Second Pick money? I'm sure it's a few million, yeah - but when you're going to bank $20 - $25 million of guaranteed cash anyway, what's the difference? How many millions does a person need? The only thing he should be whining about is the sad fact that he was drafted by the Saints. Poor bastard.

the saints are still a better team/organization than the texans.
Fuk Reggie Bush- you get the money at or around what slot you are picked.
I can guarantee you this......if Reggie fuks around and pulls an Elway on the Saints, that immediate action will be undertaken to work out some type of slotting process for draft picks and appended to the CBA.
If that is what Bush is asking for or expecting (1 pick money), then you can bet that the players will not stand staunchly behind him. He didnt go number one because of the baggage that started to form all around him. the Texans, already in a tailspin couldnt afford to have that type of BS around them. Plus, it appears as if he and his handlers were ball busting any potential teams.
And lets think of this.....Why in the fuk on Gods green earth would the Saints promise him 1st pick money, knowing that he was going to fall to them in their later slot. The pick has no say in what team he is on, and would therefore have no leverage. That promise would defy business logic. Noone, and I repeat noone....not the dumbest owner would promise something like that
And Benson is not known for throwing his money around. It makes absolutetly no sense whatsoever. It sounds like agent spin meant to pressure Bensen into buckling.
I am sensing a big time Bush Backlash in which he completely disgusts (in the name of business (he will say for his family and stuff) ) everybody. 100X that of the Elway incident.
I like how people are all pissed that Reggie Bush wants a big contract, then Vince Young, the guy picked BELOW Bush, is given a contract that will very likely be bigger than Mario Williams'.

Vince Young getting a monster contract on par with Williams is a joke. Young is going to be a bust, I just know it. The guy is dumb as a bag of hammers. He only ran one play in college, and if you ever really watched Texas play, he didn't even run it that well. He took the snap out of the shotgun, looked at his first target, a six yard hitch, and if the receiver wasn't open, he took off and bailed (which he did most of the time). He will not be able to do that in the NFL. There's no doubt he has a strong arm and all the physical attributes it takes to be a good NFL QB, but he doesn't have the smarts. You can just sense it. I'd be surprised if this guy is still playing in 4 or 5 years.

He's a poor man's Mike Vick in the making. Drafting that guy was down home stupid.
Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports New Orleans Saints RB Reggie Bush could join his teammates as early as Sunday, July 30. Bush and the Saints are very close to agreeing on a six-year deal that is sandwiched between QB Vince Young's contract at No. 3 and DE Mario Williams' at No. 1. "This deal should be done as early as tomorrow," the source said. When asked if there was anything that could hold up the deal, one team source said, "There shouldn't be anything. But you never know. All that's really left is for some language to be cleaned up in the deal."

He arrogant, over-indulged, and he "cheated" in the NCAA by taking the coin that everyone else has to bypass. Then he acted like a worm on a hook when confronted.
If he does something on the field and proceeds to keep his lips sealed, people will forget he is an a$$. Until then.......

Fuk Reggie Bush with one of his Golden cletes. I hope he bricks hard. Why in gods name has noone mentioned Deuce Mcallister fertheluvafuk? I haven't heard his name on ESPN since last year?
