Brady Upset with the Pats?

SI.com ran a story today about Brady's frustration with the Patsies organization refusing to resign players that he believes should not be let go.  Of course he voiced his displeasure before when Milloy was let go by the Patsies, and now he has let the organization know that he wants the suits to pony up the cash for Deion Branch.  Is the Golden Boy finally fed up with the cheap bastards in Patsie land?

Not really, there is a "Brady is angry" story about this time every year. He usually wins the Super Bowl about 6 months later. (Milloy being the PERFECT example)

Personally I hope we let Branch walk, he is asking for WAY more money then he is worth even to a team short at WR. We don't really have the horses to make a run like 03 and 04 so why not let him go and fix the WR and LB core over the next season or 2?

We would still have pleanty of time to win 1 or 2 more rings before Belichick or Brady retires, even if they don't.... 3 is good enough.

Over paying one guy leads to over paying a bunch of guys, and I would think there are better players to "lock down" than Branch.

Eugene Wilson

Ben Watson

Vince Wilfork

Ty Warren

Just to name a few.

Ninja, I agree that Branch is asking way too much, he doesnt deserve the "Reggie Wayne" money that he is demanding...but who will be the #1 reciever for the pats, are you going to rely on an unproven rookie to step up...you have a great TE corps., and an improved running game, but you need at least one/two solid recievers to take pressure off the running game and Brady...

Hell, I understand we screwed on the WR thing, but the choices are:

1. Take your lumps and learn the lesson

2. Overpay a guy and watch the roster fall apart as everyone demands their "slice"

The Pats are a great team, and it is a shame to watch any of Brady's seasons go badly, but you can't win them all, and trying will only doom your future chances.

I watched the Pats SUCK HARD for more than a decade, so watching them win 10 games this year won't break my heart. Being honest what do we figure the "win/ loss" difference is on Branch?

Maybe 1 game?

The Golden Boy seems to think that Branch is the next coming of christ on the football field, and he is right when he talks about the importance of having a reciever that you have worked with for more than a couple of years...Trust me, coming from Pittsburgh I have seen our high profile players come and go because of a stubborn executive office, but if the Patsies want to win their division this season I think they need to sign Branch...After all you dont want to piss off the Golden Boy.

Yeah, God forbid, because last time we pissed him off this bad (Milloy) he went 14-2 and won the Super Bowl.

Yeah, better not get him mad!

Losing Milloy, and losing your #1 reciever are two different things...I wouldnt count on the angry golden boy to go 14-2 this year...

and everything we are hearing 1 day later suggests that Brady was "showing face" over the past couple of days and is really pissed at Branch for leaving him high and dry when he is "under contract".

Easy for Brady to say when he got $60 mil+.

Either way this story was all smoke... no fire.

Bruschi hurt his hand though, so there is something to hang your hat on.

I WISH the Pats were playing the Steelers this year so I could rub your face in the result, but I will have to fondly remember the last time we met (and you lost) or the time before that (you again, lost).

Oh well.
