RE: NFC North

talent wise the Vikings look good, as they did last year when i picked them to win the division. But did they get better again by subtraction?...they lost Dante, Randy and Nate on offense and added who?....and you somehow got better?  Your QB is guy who wasn't considered good enough to be a starter 8 years ago, neither did the 2 teams that follow. But championships start in the front office, and the Vikings seem to be run by the 3 stooges.

It is amazing to me phole how you know so much about the offense the bears have....I mean you did see what our rookie third string QB had last year 10 wins, bet he's better with a training camp or two. We are so weak at RB that a guy with 1300 yds may be the back up....god we suck....how about our WRs ....think they will be better with a quality QB?....you know so much about our WRs, it is amazing since they are all young guys and 2 of them have yet to see significant field time, Mushin probably didn't struggle NOT having any reps with the starting QB. The fact is you don't know crap about our offense since you didn't really get to see much of it last year! Neither did we but I saw what it was becoming and liked it, but I know the Bears have the deepest QB corp in the NFL! Grossman has game...if he can get it on the field is the question.....Griese is considered the best back up in the league, and our third string guy had 10 wins last year! Teams are made up of 3 groups, the D, the O and the special teams....they are loaded with Special team aces, and a great D, if the O generates 13 points a game the Bears will be tough to beat....period.

you're doing a great job illustrating my point. we all know plenty about our home teams but really don't know dookie about the others. johnson won a bunch of games for us last year. now with a system that better suits him and a coach who may know what he's doing i think he'll be fine. cedrick's hurt, jones is whinning. leaves you with peterson right now. lucky you. mushin is a mid teir1!.the other guys we'll have to wait and see. i would still take johnson over ANY of your qbs. your o-line is decent, but c'mon, Birk, Hutch, and McKinney. no contest.

the fact is I like Grossman and Griese better than Johnson...as did the coaching staff of the Bucs....remember it was Griese who took the starting job from Johnson down there LOL.

yes, you should have a good O-line, the 3 you mentioned should be pretty good, but the other 2 are? we have nice depth at all line positions, we have better QBs, and better RBs....we have better WRs also, your main starter is one of our oft injured cast offs.  None of the injuries ae serious, and unlike you they ARE running the same systems from last year so reps aren't as important to the bears...

PS.....I like Peterson (our third) better than any starter you got on the roster

I'll give you the other stuff you said, but this I cannot. WHO considers him the best backup in the league? I too like Schwab. I like Matt Cassell also. Depending on who wins the QB battle in Arizona between Leinart (if he ever signs) and Warner, either of them are good backups. What about Trent Dilfer in San Fran? He's actually won a SB as a starter.

I'll admit, Griese was alright in Denver. What got him was way too many shots to the head, and being the poor schmuck that followed John Elway. He couldn't stick in Miami, and for some reason, Tampa Bay didn't want to keep him around to be Chris Simms backup. They thought Jay Fiedler was a better choice.

Your right...Matt Shaub. Very good young QB. It's only a matter of time before Vick is done for the season then this kid can shine.

I like Billy Volek as the best backup myself...

(i also think Joey Harrington will resurrect his career, if not in Miami, somewhere)

I've seen it many times, most of the talking heads have him rated that way..I like Schaub also, took mucho heat last year for saying he was the best QB in Atlanta......and I will say it again. But he hasn't gotten the experience that Greise has....72 starts....While i agree Schaub has looked good..Greise has BEEN a starter, and could be for a number of teams....bottom line you have to play for the NFC championship and have to take your QB from the bench....Schaub or Griese?

Don't know if you can consider Volek a back-up this year, but he has looked good also.....no X

Phole, I'll take the Malnattis bet. What are you going to send if you win....some fukn walleye? What do they have to eat in Minnesota besides ice chips and buffalo dung? What are they famous for up there besides lutefisk.

Iowa you don't get up here to Chicago much.

Fuk Unos pizza (place is a glorified pizza factory now no love) Great if you want to flush your system with an oily Diharrea. The Cheese is so cheap and oily that you would think you are eating Whale blubber.

Fuk Genos East- Their Pizza tasted good when I was a little kid. Now the place has turned into a nother pizza factory. They have lost their charm. Their sausage is bland too

Fuk Giordanos- Their pizza is just a rehashed generic attempt at good deepdish pizza. Just Generic

Malnattis is actually the best of the 3....their Cheese is very good, and thier sausage actually has some taste to it.

WTF?

do you know anyone who has ever eaten that sh1t?

Well just do the Malnatti's

or.....have you ever watched the Road Tasted show on Food Network? Two hillbillies travel around to these places for home cooked food and desserts, most of which can be shipped to any address. I will pick something on their in the same price range. I work a block away from a Malnatti's its no big deal for me.

Everything on that show looks fukn good.

GoBears you are right....the only time I go to Chicago is for concerts and Football games, and when I have to. I like it right here where the only traffic jams are 2 tractors at the 4 way....

Over here in Western Illinois, the best pizza around is Harris Pizza.....and it stands up to anything I've had elsewhere. But we are more known for the ribs and steaks around here (some mighty fine Micro Brews also), so Erik you ever wander this way....give me a shout out...Food and drink is on me....come out during the Bluesfest next year....show you how to party over here in Western Chicago as it used to be called

warmer summers? WTF?....been asleep for the last 40 years? Stronger storms....milder winters...warmer summers.....the enviromentalists told everyone that was going to happen 40 years ago.....I think they call it global warming....might as well sell your ice hut

nope. relatives are split, some like it some hate it. i imagine it might be like salt cod, if you ever had that. i know texture wise its very gelationous, maybe like aspic. they haveto soak it in lye before they cook it, that can't be good.
