RE: Fantasy draft on Saturday

{First, I'm assuming with the 4th round pick of Rhodes that Addai was gone}

I think they were there....but the problem is ...you cant take both. Plus our league gives a point for each catch RB get as well

the kicker was early...but there was a run Vinateri, Vanderjack...gone. Plus pretty much everyone in the league is an Eagles fan....so Akers is good trade bait. We also get an extra point for field goals of 50 + yards

I was thrilled Braylon Edwards fell into my lap

If I know my league.....in the first couple of weeks..guys will be dropping real players to pick up the 1 week wonders...Fisman Jacksons ect...

I thought it a bit early for a kicker also, but he got a good one, and hey...he's a eagle fan... better the devil you know. As far as defenses...depends on the scoring....some league Ds get all sorts of bonus points...of the teams Chicago plays this year 9 of the games are against first time head coaches....mistakes will be made and they will capitalize, that and an improved return game will benefit them also (while Chicagos D was very good last year, thier special teams play was atrocious)

Volek does have a tough match-up....but who says he will be your back-up at that time?...Volek could be nice trade bait early in the season if he plays as well as he has in the past, a couple injuries and you could have guys beating down your door to trade you for him, trade him for something you want/need and pick up another QB with a better match-up..

I always look at every FFL game as a series of match-ups....if you are better in the most catagories you generally win. Unless you draft like an idiot you should be fairly equal at RB...WR...QB, overall....that leaves TE...K....and D...win those and you should win the games..win the games...win the league.

SOTD..............I was meaning Steal of the Draft. Sorry for the ambiguity. Overall, a very tight roster.

2 things real quick at ya Taco: 1st off....I never get any Bears on my fantasy teams (I live in Bear territory...they always go a round or 2 early)

2nd off.....Bears D in 7th round NOT a reach....they outscored every TE and Kicker in the league last year and should again. Depending on the scoring style they outscored many of the RBs that are ranked over 20th and damn near all the WRs. if you remember I suggested a top notch D in the 7th round....I think you got one, Carolina would have been another good choice at that spot.

PS-FYI to all board members...the ONLY bear I suggested as a pick-up was Benson as a possible 3rd back, didn't even suggest Defenses...just when to take one.....when I play FFL...I am definitely no homer.

Taco,

I'm not sure what this last post means, but if it means that THESE are the rb's available as possible replacements for dom davis, your only options are Barlow or Mike Anderson.

And they're not bad options either.

they were both drafted in my league (which is a no TE league where you can carry as many as five rbs and start 3).

they both have the potential to do something, OR nothing at all:

-mangini seems to dig barlow, and will probably give him most of the carries. but the jets stink.

-jamal lewis appears to be gimpy in the hip, so anderson might get alot of work. but musa smith, a really good college back who's been in the system awhile now, was the one with the excellent camp, not mike anderson.

noone else on that list seems as substantial as them.

those are my suggestions...

get lundy if possible.

in my potentially effed up completely wrong opinion, you've got them in the order of their worth, except that i like barlow better than anderson.

My bad....I didnt make this clear. I pick at 11. Meaning the ten guys ahead of me have a shot at that list of RB's I posted. Most guys wil take RB's with the exception of maybe 1 WR ect..

That entire list may be gone. Looking for some ideas

Dayne was always just too damn big to be a good RB in the NFL. You think Kubiak is going to run him in Houston?

PS ...Yo Iowa...any pre season trades you think are do-able in our FF league
