Leftwich plays solid against the Steelers. He will probably carve out 6-8 first downs passing, 200-245 yards and maybe a TD.
Taylor is always capabe of a big game, but our run defense is the strength of the team and it ain't 2000 Freddie. He will run hard and probably end up with about 15-18 carries 65 yards.
Jax won't put up more than 21 points.
I hope Ben sits. We need him healthy if we are going to win it all. With him we a super bowl contender. Without him we are a competitive team. I would start Batch but I won't be bummed to see him trot out there.
Parker may have a tough run at things, especially if Batch plays. But if Hines can set the tempo outside that will open things up for a couple creases and hopefully a few gashes by Parker.
Really, you think you are a SB team with Roth-lisp-Burger playing? I think they are a SB team the same way the Pats are: "If the Stars align they have a chance".
Anyways, I am not clear on why the Jags take ole' Fred into season after season as a feature RB. When was the last time he played 16 games?
and WTF is with Laftwhich? Is he a good patient QB like he sometimes seems, or he is the chubby moron that he seems at other times? I would be scared if my starting QB was "iffy".
The Steelers run D is definatly a beast, and as long as everyone stays healthy they will have a premier D. I just don't see how people can pick them to go all the way? They didn't exactly truck through the 2005 season, and the entire run was centered on Bettis who is now gone.
I would not be surprised if the Steelers went deep in the playoffs this year, but I would not expect it either. To me they seem like the Pats - Could win 14 and truck through the AFC playoffs, or could go 8-8.
On the other side, I fully expect the Jags to blow, so this shouldn't be "game of the year" material.
I'll go Steelers 20, Jags 13. Despite the fact that they are on the road this week, I'm giving the Steelers the edge in this one since they have a week and a half to prepare for this game (due to the fact that they played this past Thursday night).
it will look like week 6 of the preseason. both d's will contain offenses that only do well against lesser d's than the ones they'll face in this game (confused by that? I am...just read it again slowly...it makes sense).
I think it goes like this:
A 7 - 7 stalemate at halftime, a few fieldgoals in the second half:
Jags 13, Steel, 10.
the wildcard? can Willy Parker find daylight? if he can, then add another TD to the Steel tally.
