Most overrated starters offense edition

QB- In the past, i would go with Mike Vick right away, but this year, hes playing very well.  So I will go with Daunte Cullpepper.  I had a gut feeling his last season in Minny was no fluke, and hes doing a great job of making me look good so far.

RB- Jamal Lewis, He was great when he was running against a ****ty Browns defense and ripping off 500 yards ina season against them, but hes washed up, Personally, I think his biceps are too big.

FB- William Henderson, I like the guy, but the Pack should have lethim walk, hes old and his body is about gone.  He cant even make his patented jump for yards anymore.

WR #1 - Reggie Wayne.  Playing next to Harrison, and with edge and peyton manning, will of course get you numbers.  Playing in a great system with great players makes lots of overrated players.  My point, Bill Schroeder.

WR #2 - Mushin Muhammad - He has always been a decent possesion reciever, but he struggles getting open as of late.  I dont consider him a #1 anymore.

TE - Shockey - He critizies and all that stuff, fine, if thats what needs to be done, but this guy has the skills to be truely great, and its like he doesnt give 100% effort or focus or something

T - Robert Gallery- never lived up to hype.  Jonas Jennings- way way too much money for someone who could be much better

G- Pork Chop-  Did the hawks really expect to replace hutchinson with him.  Woody, gets beat inside alot, the bears and even the packers got by him.

C - Flanagan -  not what he used to be, and the texans overpaid for him.  Can be decent if healthy, but hes just decent.

This is open to debate, and I would love to hear what everyone has to say.

Only one i'd change is Keyshawn for Mushin. And the thing of it is, Keyshawn thinks he's in the stratosphere with Rice but when his stats are considered, being Keyshawn is not that bad. He's WAY overrated because he overrates himself.

Well, if you watched him Monday night, I'm sure you'd feel the way you felt in the past about him!  He was AWFUL!

I watched monday night, but the repetition of N.O. banter over and over again kind of distracted me from the game.  Your right though, Mike Vick got shut down.  But as the great meat loaf says,  two out of three aint bad.

Shockey is off base.  This guy has a big trap, but every time I've seen him its 110%. I could'nt come up with 6 better.  IMO he is right , Chokelin could'nt coach his way out of a paper bag. (should have kept his comments to himself though)

Shockey may be a sh#tbag, but you cant argue with his production the past 3 yrs., Shockey, Heap, and Gates have been the 3 most productive TE for the past 3 yrs., so I wouldnt consider him overrated...I would say the most overrated TE is Ben Watson, for the last 2 seasons we keep hearing he is going to have his breakout year, but im pretty sure it hasnt happened yet...

Henderson isn't starting the Eagles game. Guess that blows that little rant away. He's also been injured. Guys generally don't perform well with a busted knee. Just thought I'd throw that little tid bit in there.

I would take 1 William Henderson in his prime versus 5 Mike Alstotts in his prime.

Hey i know your a packers, fan, so am I, but i thought william hendersons time was up last year...  I agree that hes injured, but thats basically my point, his inabilty to stay healthy in two years, plus his limited ability to run block make him overrated.  And if he isnt starting anymore, then it kind of proves my point right.

I didnt say there was six better, in terms of production and all that, I agree with you 100%, i think he has a chance to be much much better though.  And I see lapses in concentration, how many TD passes has he dropped, not as many as he has caught sure, but it happens.  Shockey has a chance to be very very very good, and he isnt, the fact you can maybe name one better is my point.  Has nothing to do with him talking, I dont really care about that stuff

He's not starting because he's injured. I don't believe you thought Henderson's time was up last year. He went to the Pro Bowl in '04. You just thought he sucked because the rest of the team sucked. Donal Driver, William Henderson, Mark Tauscher, Aaron Kampmann, Nick Barnett, and Al Harris were the only ones on the '05 Packers that did well and were consistant. He was VERY healthy in '05...one of the only ones. He had a knee injury in preseason and just came back in the Saints game (week 2).

And by the way, he's EXTREMELY effective as a run blocker. He blocks VERY well on both run and pass, and catches out of the back field well. He has only had like 5 carries in his entire career. He can't run the ball.

Just a quick question for you Grave Digger - If William Hendeson can't run the football - how is he 5 times better than Mike Alstott? I'd rather have an all around full back than one that can ONLY run block any year.

As for the orginial post I'd add Jeremy Stevens - great guy who drops passes in the super bowl, ends up costing the team the game and suddenly has a injury to start the season and not show how much he sucks to everyone. Maybe he's hoping more time away will make everyone forget?

The FB is becoming an out-dated and extinct position. Henderson is a better all around FB than Alstop. Henderson catches out of the backfield well, run blocks well, pass blocks well, runs after the catch well. Unfortunately, he has been a system where the FB doesn't run the ball.....doesn't mean he can't, he just hasn't been given the opportunity.
