yeah, i'd be interested to hear what t.o. did to hugh douglas, too, especially since both of their accounts of the incident don't involve fists, and douglas was on tv the day after it happened, with no apparent damage or makeup.
look, iowa laid out the logic for you, and it makes total sense. whether or not he's really a ten year old kid or a fat beer drinkin' 60 yr old who's lying through his teeth about his own ability, what he said is true. knowing how to fight isn't something one learns just by being a pro athlete in some other sport. it takes training.
I am exactly what i say I am, somewhat of an old hippie who got into martial arts when i got out of the service. I have on a couple of occasions tried to hook up with GoBears on various trips to Chicago... I have given a standing invitation to any of the regulars here to give me a shout when in this area...Quad Cities over on the Ill/Iowa border.....now wouldn't it be foolish to talk a bunch of sh*t and then try to hook up with them?
Like I said I'm not trying to come across as some sort of Bruce Lee, I'm not even the best Judo player in this area. But I have done a lot of cross training in a variety of arts which makes me a good source of knowledge for these kids wanting to go UFC.
Years of doing something gives you a feel about how others might be when doing your sport....T.O. lacks the heart it would take to get in the ring against someone who just may beat the h*ll out of him....notice how many tall guys fight in the UFC or other full contact sports? Very damn few...It is because they break easier....long arms and legs don't stand up to the abuse very well....simple physics, that doubled with the fact that someone like T.O. is totally without ANY training....plus the fact that I could make millions...sign me up, how could I ever pass something like that by?
iowa, i wasn't suspecting you of falsifying your identity, i was just making a point: what you said about fight training is true.
didn't too tall jones try to box? a few months of training, and into the ring with him. how did THAT work out? and wilt chamberlain tried to fight, too, right? fine physical specimens, both of them. but not fighters.
Mags...JBN...did you read the Tuesday one-liners? thats a 6'4" #300 lineman. An ex-wrestler who knows many of the fighters, his answer to what would happen if he got in the ring..."get knocked out"....like I said, it don't transfer.
I bet you McNabb would kick T.O.'s a$$. Hell, I'd put my money on Andy Reid.
How about Moss vs. Owens? Boxing gloves in a 12 foot ring. A referee. Judges, a packed arena. The ripped T.O. vs. the lanky Moss. Besides a lousy fight, what would go down??
Nope...they would dance around telling each other how bad they were going to hurt the other...without either one actually landing a blow....2 guys shadowboxing for how ever many rounds they were supposed to fight
