how can you Packer fans STILL stand behind this guy? Farve love him or hate him, has always been dangerous late in a close game, but now he is a danger to the Packers instead of the other teams! Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.....again.
I think it is time for the Rodgers era to begin...I would sh*tcan Farve after this season, how much would the 10 or 12 million that Farve will get for playing next year help in other spots....like O-line...like D-backs....like a RB...that team needs far more than Brett "The Baker" Farve.....
nahhhhh, he's FINE! Just ask any of the announcers who cover him and his team...
BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Well, I must admit, I think Lord Favre was responsible for losing that game for them yesterday. He couldn't protect the football when they were driving deep in Rams territory with a chance to tie the game up or perhaps even win it.
Yeah, I agree....Keeping Favre behind center is definitely hindering his teams ability to grow into a new era. We will see that era begin soon I'm guessing...this year. Favre will have to lose his job soon.
Favre was "like" (don't quote me on that) 61 wins, 0 losses in games where he did not throw an interception, now he is 61 and 1.
I agree that Brett should walk away (maybe next season) and that is not at all to bring him down. He needs to walk away while he still has some kind of integrity left as a future HOF'r. He is playing on a talentless team and you cannot win with a so-so QB back there with the kind of O-line and recievers he has. Upgrading their defense could help too.
And besides, if I know Green Bay fans, they'll riot of he gets sh1t canned from the Packer organization. Brett Favre is Green Bay and Green Bay is Brett Favre. Sorry to say this to you Iowa, but its Favre, not Farve as most people spell it. And I promise, I am not dogging on you because I spell like a 2nd grader most days.
Yes, "Farve" is how people pronounce his name, but it's spelled "Favre". Kind of like Dwyane Wade from the Miami Heat, who's name is pronounced "Dwayne" but spelled "Dwyane".
Anyway, do any of you remember the time when Favre was drafted and the person announcing his mispronounced his name, calling him Brett "Favor"?
Good god, can't everyone just leave this poor guy alone. He's doing the best job of creating wins, just happens to be for the opposing team! hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
considering the intelligience on this board I thought I better spell it phonetically...LOL...just kidding...my bad...sometimes my fingers get going faster than my mind....A.M. thats times 4
Yeah, Iowa, I'm the same way. I probably would had spelled it Farve too, except I remember him being in a movie where they actually pronounced his name correctly. I was like, "who the fudge is that?" Then I saw Brett....figured it out. And Actually I was only 10 when Favre was drafted, so I wasn't huge into football yet and didn't watch the draft, but that's hillarious. How do you get "Favor" out of "Favre". That draft announcer was probably fire soon after.
First of all I would like to point out that I was the first to make this argument at the beginning of the season, all Favre is doing to the Packers by sticking around is prolonging the development of Rodgers and his young recievers...Favre is only around to try to break records that he will never break with this team, Favre is not a team player but an egotistical a$$hole...

Don't try to take credit for what I've been posting since the inception of this board. Hell I've been saying this '99.
Bret Favre should have retired after last season. He played the drama queen for months, demanding that the Pack surround him with a contending team if he were to return. Of course, he came back to the same talentless squad he led last season. Favre has had a great career but ever since losing that Super Bowl to Denver he hasn't been the same clutch QB he was before. Quite frankly, he panics far too often and throws the ball to the wrong team. Then, feeling he has to catch up quickly, he heaves desperate passes all over the field and even more are picked off. This continues until the closing gun and then everyone in the media gets all misty eyed about what a great "competitor" he is. Any other QB showing these tendencies this late in his career would have been benched a long time ago, but GB is going to squeeze every last drop they can out of Favre because they realize that after him there isn't a whole lot to look forward to.
Are you guys seriuos? he didnt retire because he can still play football, do you think any QB in the league would do better with the packers? they are absolutely hideous. Peyton manning wouldnt be winning anymore games with the packers than favre would. Everyone is so quick to hate Brett Favre, when really, he is the definition of a class act and team player, we all know he could of went somewhere else and ressurected his career and had a shot at a superbowl, but hes loyal to his fans and team and stuck around on a crappy team just so people can talk sh!t about him, kinda sad if u ask me.
And another little tidbit, all his INTs come in the fourth quarter when the packers are losing, when most QBs would just pack it in and protect their stats, he just trys to make something happen, as unlikely it is, its the only possibility of winning these games.

I have only one ? for you Jhuber. Are you a Packers fan?
not really, i just didnt jump on the "hate favre" bandwagon because he had one bad season with a revolving door for an O line after 14 great years. He still looks good. he still could rifle a hole throw a frying pan 50 yards out.
GAVE Strahan the sack record - just lay down and said F U to the sport of football with that one
His vaunted starting streak is load of dookie- does ANYONE remember 1999??? Hand the size of Milwaukee??? absolutly gave games away because he couldn't hold the da!@ ball??!!!
massive drug addiction
used to get into public BAR BRAWLS on a reg basis
the over emphasis on his "gunslinger" mentaility - working pretty good for him now a days aint it
PUBLICLY refuses to help A rogers says somehting to the effect that ut is not his job to train his replavement - SOME TEAM GUY THERE
his dad dies the whole of the football world freakin STOPS and I am force fed the touching story of man who loved son (HOW FN RARE) <rolling eyes>
T Green loses his dad and it is mentioned.
I could go on and on but I assume it is clear I dont like him and I aint a Puker fan either. My team has had its share of turds and MORE than its share of scandals - but the unholy media feeding frenzy that continues to stroke his bloated ego - the BLIND loyalty of some of the Packer fan base that insists it is EVERYONES fault but his....
But all in all. KEEP HIM!!! I love what he is doing in GB right now!!!

Your a dick - yea the reason they made a big deal about his dad dying might have something to do with the fact less than 24 hours later he played on MNF and throw for 4 TDs and 399 yards in 3 quarters.
So he had a problem with pills early in his career, hes human to and sometimes people have problems, welcome to life it doesnt make him a bad person. Not to mention he won the super bowl the next year after beating addiction.
Yea, 99, the year the packers went through a rebuild after a two year SB run and had a rookie coach who didnt last very long. They went 8-8 that year regardless, so your suggesting they should of benched the 3 time MVP for who, doug pederson or aaron brooks, i dont even remember anymore. Wonderful coaching strategy.
Dont even bring up bar brawls, 70% of NFL players do worse.
I've been pleasantly surprised with the young Oline that was going to cause Brett to be running for his life (I think thats how everyone put it). They've only given up 7 sacks which is tied for 3rd in the league (I think the Pats are first with 5). These guys will be pretty good in a year or two. If we get a stud RB and one more legit WR, I think the Packers could have a pretty strong offense.
Get one more good corner and a safety who can cover, the defense would be much better.
All of the things I just said can be addressed in the draft and FA. My personal preference would be to draft:
1. Marshawn Lynch (RB-Cal) - Stud RB...plain and simple.
2. Daymeion Hughes (CB-Cal) - Solid corner who gets turnovers.
3. Dallas Baker (WR-Florida) - Really won't drop this low, but one can hope.
And go after someone like Drew Bennett (WR-Tennessee) in FA, as well as Jason David (CB-Colts), and Michael Lewis (S-Eagles). Now, those guys are pretty good and will probably be resigned so it doesn't matter....doesn't hurt to think about it though.

though a viking fan, i have to admit favre has played fast and well for the most part, rogers, based on preseason play looks overmatched at this level, so why look like the texans if you don't have to?
Yeah Ted Ginn Jr. is probably going to declare for the '07 draft. If he does declare, he is easily Top 15 pick. He probably won't be a featured #1 in the NFL but will play more of an Antwan Randall El role (#2/3 and returner). Depending on where they finish, I expect the Vikings to be looking hard at him.
