I know I am gonna get cussed out for this one, but here's where the Bears lose their perfect season. Sunday Nov. 12th in the Meadowlands against the Giants of New York. I think it will be close. They also lose in New England. Than my upset loss for them comes in week 17 when the Pack upset them (this is on conditions that Brett Favre is actually playing his last game in the NFL and that the Bears put in their closest high school football team to protect their first string players). Final Bears 2006 team record 13-3...Anyone disagree?

Law of averages says you're right. They are certainly bound to lose. I look at the Giants, Pats and Rams are really tough games that the Bears will probably lose. They've not looked great on the road, and those are 3 teams (at least the Pat and Rams for sure) that play REALLY well at home. Losing to GB would only happen if Chicago is resting players I think. It's too much of an emotional match-up for them to drop I believe. I could easily see 13-3, but the 3rd loss is to the Rams and not GB. However, I am willing to still contemplate much better. While difficult, if the Bears play well, they can beat all 3 of those teams on the road.
I agree. It certainly is a statistical anomoly to go undefeated. But....it's also an anomoly if you do it without facing some adversity. One can certainly hope that they do. To see those Dolphin idiots crying would be something else.

Really, that's the reason I want to see it! I'm so sick of seeing those '72 guys rooting for guys to F up! i don't expect it in the least, but it would be nice!
Once again, I am not a huge Bears fan, but I must agree...its time to end the continous circle jerk of "we're the greatest f*ckers here" mentality of the '72 Dolphins. Oh what a season it would be to see an unbeaten Indy versus an unbeaten Chicago in the Superbowl. I hate Indy (Chiefs fan remember), but that would make for a helluva season. Chicago is tough enough and Lovie Smith has his head on a swivel and ready for whatever comes...just like Dungy.
The only team of note lately that you can make a serious case for deserving to have a perfect season should be the Pats. Didn't they go like 20-0 before they lost a game?
yeah like listening to a buncf of FIBS is gonna be better than listening to the old geezers in flordia. if the bears went undefeated they'd make cheeseheads seem tolerable. god save us from that nightmare!
I agree. This is the same mentality that we saw from Cubs fans when the Sox won the world series first. Cub fan vs sox fan mentality makes Packers fans vs Bears fans seem insignificant.
You should have heard them all season long....same fukn thing. You're gonna fail..You're gonna fail, and when you do I'll be there laughing and cackling like a fukn witch when you do.
And you know what. We have heard nothing but silence since the final out of the last game.
So you guys can prognosticate all you want about this and about that, but just as the Bears showed up and got their balls handed to them by a bad team, the same scenario also applies to any of the road games that you have mentioned. And hey....the Buffalo Bills fukd up the Patriots for the entire first half of the game on opening day. It wasn't even close. So don't any of you sit here and tell me that they aren't beatable. And the Giants...gimme a fukn break. they can barely keep it together for one quarter, let alone a whole game. Home or away.
So to say that it is near impossible for the Bears to have a perfect season is just dumb. The excitement stemming from this thought is derived upon the following...and in this order.
1.) The bears D is fukn rock solid...and has potential to be considered one of the best ever...if they can stay consistent...Big if, but we are 6 games into the season and they have shown barely a hint of ineptitude.
2.) The Bears Schedule is weak sauce. There is no question about it. The moons have aligned this year.
3.) The offense up until this last game has looked brilliant...Not just good, brilliant. Now the question is, can the Bears remove the Cardinal beak from its a$$, shrug off the eye opening whoopin that was given, and right the ship....Even if it doesn't the Bears D will have its back.
And don't say that you cannot win a superbowl on Defense alone...It has been done several times...reference the 85 bears or the 00 ravens. So even if Grossman were to continue to suck for the remainder of the year...which Is doubtable, then it still could get done.
4.) The Bears O will be just fine. It's no less wishful thinking to say that the Bears O will be fine as it is to say that they are going to suck. I've seen enough in the first five games to state that with a degree of confidence. As there is no such thing as a completely perfect season where an offense just fires on all cylinders all of the time, I don't put too much weight in Mondays game.
5.) There truly is no unbeatable team in the NFL in either league. The Bears right now are the closest team to that
6.) Monday Night was a gift wakeup call. Not often do you execute so poorly and get out with a win. Good teams will take that and tighten up. Good teams will learn from their mistakes and adjust. Good teams get stronger after games like this. After ingesting all of the hype surrounding this season, this last game was one helluva booster shot in the arm. Our D just got more confident, and our O knows that things aren't always going to be easy and they need to work harder. All of this learned in a win...not a loss. No harm...no foul. And that builds confidence.
GoBears there is no way your team is going to go undefeated. The only team that could have a chance to run the table in the modern NFL would be a team with a dominate defense and a Hall of Fame QB in his prime.
well said GoBears....and i agree across the board. Mondays night game was a gift to this team, was horrible and still won it, that builds confidence. As far as going undefeated....like I said possible, but I don't know how probable. If the Bears go on the road trip from hell and sweep it, they will drop that week #14 game to St. Louis, because they suck on Mondays
I will take the Steelers defense over the Bears any day. I think your defense is good, but far from great, and no doubt beatable.
I agree with Dennis Green, too. What he was saying in his press conference is that the Bears are just a good NFL team, thats it. They are very beatable. I will congratulate you gentlemen on being week 6 champions, good luck down the stretch though.
Not only would I take the Steelers defense before the Bears, I'd take San Diego and Denver before them too.
But back to the Bears wonderful defense, I seem to remember a couple of games last year were they got utterly exposed (Steelers and Carolina) where the defense didn't even look like it belong in the same state as the game was being played. And a couple of preseason games earlier this year where they gave up some yardage and TDs to medicore teams. Yet I wonder, what is the major difference in your self vaulted defense from one year to the next? Isn't this the defense returning all 11 starters, yet they don't know how to defend a SCREEN PASS? Hell run some bootlegs on them and watch what happens.
So I ask again what's changed from last year? Did they learn how to spell screen pass? Maybe they saw the word 'misdirection' somewhere in one of their OTAs and thought the coaches were talking to the offense?
Don't get me wrong, I think you guys have a fantastic pass rush, but if any of the teams that are playing you in the future have half a brain they'd take advantage of it and make you guys look like fools - kinda like Urlacher standing next to Boldin and having no idea where he is as Boldin walks in for the TD.
Besides, the ability for ANY team to go 16-0 is very unlikely unless the coach has some kinda personal vendetta of wanting to nock off the '72 dolphins. I'd be pissed if my team decided to scarifice the postseason by potentially injuring some key players by playing them after they had already clenched home field advantage just to make some kinda record. That coupled with the fact that you still have legitimate teams on your schedule away from your stadium to play with the personal and coaching staff to beat you is the reason I think you Bears fans are star-crossed dreamers. Sorry but pretty regular season records won't define this years success, ask the Colts.
well...how brave to come out and make that declaration when you know you don't have to play them. If we get to play it will be in the Super Bowl, and if the Bears are IN the Superbowl they WILL win the damn thing, no matter how much help you get from the refs.....Hope they both make it....I will enjoy reminding you of this conversation.....that is if 3rd in the division gets you to the playoffs!
LOL...Cheez..funny the games you mention are the ones we were without Mike Brown and the man who backed him up, injuries at the other safety also. What has changes?...did you sleep through all off season or what? They were grilled for wasting thier draft by drafting a safety (who is starting) in the 2nd, him and M. Anderson and Hester(cb), remember? Not only that but they got free agents R.Manning, and Dante Wesley.....4 additional DBs and another pass rushing DE.....dude....better tighten up your posts are you will be chewed to pieces on this board.

You guys are comedy! Pleaser take your Chargers and Steelers D's! The Chargers couldn't hold the Ravens this season, and let's not forget the tumping Pitt took against the Bengals on 12/4 losing the game and giving up 38 points. Every team has a bad day!
Getting to the Bears D, they're a year more experienced than last, they have a rookie stuf on the D line, they have a very good rookie at safety and have some more septh at CB with free agency. I think that makes some difference. C'mon, stating Urlacher got beat on one play over the course of 6 games is just silly! I think the rest of his resume say a lot more. Hey, the Bears will continue to get dissed until they win it all. It's something all of us Bears fans will deal with during the season. I'll say that Pit and SD have really good D's! So does Denver. But, the edge goes to the Bears. No other team in the NFL could have done what the Bears did last year. That was all on the D.
Yep, going 16-0, etc is very VERY difficult. But it is not impossible. Not probably, but possible. Heck, if the Bears don't do it, I hope Indy does! I'm just sick of the 72 Fins!

Hey now, this is an R rated chat room. Take your X rated butt kissing and get a room. LOL, of course, I'm joking. I am just surprised about not getting beat down by all the bears fans in here.

Chief, no reason to get a beat-down! You're posts aren't emotional tirades. They make logical sense. Good banter is all!

Okay, so I was a week late. Who woulda thunk it? The fish took down the bear. Oh, and Grossman looked like Brett Farve at the age of 45. Of course, Brady looked like Farve at the age of 50.

Fast forward to November 5th.......the lowly Dolphins beat the previously undefeated Bears. I guess the Dolphin idiots aren't crying.
