Question for the Bears fans

The Packers signed Bears RB P.J. Pope off the Bears practice squad to fill in for the injured Vernand Morency.

What was you guys' general impression of the guy?? His bio said he was the leading rusher for the team in preseason. Is he good, or is he JUST a practice squad player?? He's kinda small at 5'9". Whats he good at and not good at? Is he a speedster or is he physical?? Is he a dancer or does he just put his shoulder down and hit??

Just tryin to get a little info on the guy since he is now a Packer.

Alot of Bears fans were in love with this guy preseason (I wasn't one of them). He ran well in the preseason, like a bowling ball style of running, bouncing off guys and such, and had decent speed. The only reason I wouldn't be in love with the guy is because he didn't get a chance to show his stuff vs a real regular season defense. That's not his fault, he did everything he was asked to do and looked good doing it. I will say it was a good pick up by the Pack, definately worth a shot.

I'm just weary on preseason wonders, Kyle Orton looked like Joe Montana last year before the regular season started.

My general impression is that he was solid.  He made the most of his playing time and looked good doing so.  There are no guarantees.  But the kid certainly looks to be a hrad worker and has promise.  He kind of reminds me slightly of a Joe Morris type...obviously not THAT good, but similar running style.

I thought he'd land on a roster much sooner.  I think you got a good deal.

His preseason success came on the heels of the second and third team defenses playing conservatively so that they could get the game over with without getting hurt. He is a poor mans Ron Dayne...and thats not saying much. He is not likely to ever see the playing field in any capacity again...barring a complete RB meltdown with 3 or four serious injuries.

You guys would be better off with Pope John Paul II
