Where's that Bears fan.....

In the summer I said Hester would be a liability fielding punts and some guy ripped me. Who was it? Yesterday a punt bounced off Hester's face and then the Bears went into a tail spin, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Yes he's dangerous with the ball in his hands, thats assuming it doesn't bounce off his head.

Heck, maybe it was me...  I don't recall.

He was a liability that game, but not for 7 others.  I think the positives seriously outwieght he negatives.  Hester didn't throw a pick to Taylor.  Hester didn't fumble like Gage.  He made a rookie error, just as most of us Bears fan expected.  We also expected some amazing things, and he's delivered on that.

You mean the same Hester that leads the league in punt returns and already returned 2 for TDs this year?

Anyone can have a bad game, he will not be a liability until he messes up more plays than he makes.

Hester isn't perfect...hes a fukn rookie. One bad game doesn't make a player bad.

first off, that was me...and the other people who have answered you have done so real well. I also said he was a rookie and would make mistakes and he would get better with time, no-one said he was perfect or expected it of him. Better than leading the NFL at the half way point as a rookie?....tell you what since he's such a liabilty why don't you tell the coaches who are punting away from him how bad he is

And how pathetic are you?...I can picture you breathlessly waiting for Hester to screw one up so you could pop out and say  "see i was right"....had a nice long wait didn't you? If you're petty enough to do this type of thing, then the fact that he leads the NFL at his position must just make you crazy. So continue on sticking little pins in your Hester doll, but know that it puts you at the same level as the 72 Dolphins who toast themselves when the last unbeaten team drops one.

Well first of all Dennis Northcutt has a better average than Hester (16.9 compared to 14), so lets stop with "Hester is leading....".

Now lets review what happend here....

In the summer I said Hester would struggle fielding punts and you thought this was absurd, even going as far as to say that no scouts have said this would be a problem so why would I? (I'm smarter than scouts and GMs, thats why)

Now Hester lets a punt bounce off his face inside the 10 yard line directly leading to a Miami TD and you guys start making excuses. Thats his 4th muff of the year, FOURTH!!!!!!!!!!!! F-O-U-R-T-H. This wasn't a one time thing. Nobody is doubting what he can do with the ball, my doubts were in his ability to field punts (one of the hardest things to do in sports).

If you want to call me pathetic then go right ahead, but you also have to call me a smart S.O.B. Just like the Bears opponents in January, I ALWAYS WIN!

Hey Fukhead. He also has fielded 8 more punts than the second closest punt returner.

More Opportunity.

Noone said the guy was gods gift, but he is a very good punt returner. I'd take him over any of the other punt returners in the league right now.

Punts Fielded
t1. Hester- 33, 4 fumbles
t1. Eric Parker- 33, 0 fumbles

Nice try, now go back to your cubicle.

Devin Hester is gonna be a good one, Sexy Rexy is gonna be a good one too. People need to back off of both of them. Hester's a rook, and Rex effectively JUST finished his rookie year in getting his 16th start against Miami. They are both gonna make rookie mistakes. I just think it's ironic that the Dolphins ended the unbeaten streak again.

Unless you've got a better stat source than NFL.com http://www.nfl.com/stats/leaders/NFL/PNTRET/2006/regular

Justice.

And Like I said, I'd still take Hester over anyone else in the league.

You should think about changing your name to "The Bullsh1t"

Fair catches count as "Fielded Punts".

Hester
30 returns + 3 Fair Catches = 33 fielded punts
4 fumbles

Parker
23 returns + 10 fair catches = 33 fielded punts
0 fumbles

http://www.nfl.com/stats/playersort/NFL/PR-PUNTRETURNS/2006/regular?&_3:col_1=5

Quit while you're behind

(If the link doesn't work right then go to NFL.com, Stats, Player Sortables, Punt Returners)

Hester leads in yardage over Parker and he leads in the most important stat...TDs. No-one said he was going to be perfect, (especially as a rookie) but you were trying to say he would be a disaster. Like I said pathetic attempt to get your props.

Last I checked we were comparing a returners value as a returner overall. 10 fair catches is not an admirable stat jacko. That can either mean hes a fukn coward, has faced better punters, or has less ability (or faith in his ability) to get positive yardage after the catch. I'd rather have a guy that muffs one every once in a while that has the ability to make things happen in a big way, than a guy with sure hands that fair catches balls all day and gives you a longer field to start with. And based upon your absolutely rediculous comparison of Eric Parker to Devin Hester, that is what you are saying.

your argument is still as retarded at your fukn viewpoint.

you are comparing

14 Eric Parker SD
23 returns
228 yards
9.9 Average
50 Long
0 TD's
10 Fair Catches

With

2 Devin Hester CHI
30 Returns
420 Yeards
14.0 AVG
84 Long
2 TD's
3 Fair Catches

Are you that bent on trying to prove your point that you are comparing these two guys?

Are you fukn nuts?

A Ferrari with a flat tire is still faster than a Yugo with all four Truth....Probably a little less stable at high speeds, but you are definitely going to get there faster and look better doing it.

4 Fumbles in 8 games as a punt returner is a disaster. It just is. And wait till the weather gets bad, the coldest game Hester ever played in is probably 78 degrees.

And GoBears, give up already. I was just exposing the incorrect stats you kept coming with. I don't know if you're drunk or just a complete dumbass.

Clarification needed...are you saying Hester lost 4 fumbles?  I believe he only lost one.

Actually you are making yourself look like a  bigger and bigger fukn boob in an attempt to get a very very weak point across.

4 muffed punts and 1 fumble when put in the context of what he has done already this year is still admirable.

And now you are trying to invent stats that aren't even kept to make your stupid point.

Well if you addsch the number of puntsch and dchiivide it by tchwo you have a puntshc retschurner loshcer.

So Keep on talking dude.

Keep on Digging and digging and digging and digging

You follow up your moronic views with botched stats every single time....it's hilarious.

Calm down, his fumbles are no where near Santonio Holmes's. Cannot wait until willie Reid gets back.

I heard mixed reports, did Hester have a 105 yard return or did he tie the league and Chicago Bear record with a 108 yard touchdown tonight?

108.4 yards....that return from Hester broke thier backs. Each of his 3 TDs have been game winners, he iced this game, the Green Bay game and of course the Arizona game. I'm taking my props...said this kid would score 3 times this year, should have laid some coin on it in Vegas.

Hey Truth....everytime he crosses the goalline he makes you look a bit dumber, this morning you look like an idiot!

Ever since I was a little kid I always wondered why teams disn't put someone deep on a long FG.  There is just too much room for a returner to work with and a team on the other side that is in no posistion to cover a returner, especially when you get someone dangerous like Hester back there.

Not to discredit the Bears or Hester, but chaulk that one up to Coach Tom.  Should have punted.  The guy is too agressive with his play calling and decisions, and it's always been that way with him.

especially when the Bears have done it in the past, like last year for the same 108 yards.
